Household dynamic:

  • This loving Mountain View family enjoys spending time together – whether playing outside at the park, walking their small and fluffy hypoallergenic dog, or goofing around with musical instruments. They value going outdoors even when it’s wet, and prioritize screen-free time whenever possible. At 9 months and 3.5 years old, their children love spending time playing outside, reading stories, and existing in magical worlds. The parents enjoy consistency and simplicity, letting their children become familiar with their local environment and developing friendships within their community.
  • Both parents have worked hard over the past three years to learn to be parents: making space for kids’ emotions and staying calm, empathetic, & regulated when things are hard for a child. One parent works from home, while the other has been parenting full-time and planning to return to work. They have a grandparent currently living in their home and employ an additional nanny and housekeeper, so someone who is confident working with family and staff members will be key! Travel is not a significant part of this role, but they look forward to taking one vacation per year with their nanny.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone who takes a child-led, respectful approach to caring for children and spends time with them in their imaginative worlds! The family is eager to work with a candidate who has a working knowledge of child development, can focus on modeling good behavior, language development, build confidence, and can act as a true collaborator and teammate to parents to celebrate wins and work through challenges. A candidate who aligns or has a background in Montessori or RIE will probably align well with the family. While they have two children, this role will focus on the family’s youngest child, who will be entering the toddler stage this summer!
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, occasional errands usually done including children, collaborating with parents and staff, managing daily routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family once a year.
  • While not a requirement for the role,While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with a formal background in ECE, Montessori, or RIE. Experience with improvisational theater or music is a plus!

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
  • Dog friendly!
