Infant-Savvy Nanny Needed For Curious Washington, DC Family

• Location: Washington, DC
• Ages of children: 4 months old at the start of the position
• Start date: Early May 2024
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50-55 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8am to 7pm. Flexibility for occasional date nights and weekend coverage will be asked for in advance and appreciated.
• Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 50-55 hour/week schedule, which equates to a projected annualized compensation of $100-130k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full compensation and benefits package.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-out

Household dynamic:

• These loving, well-humored parents welcomed their first child this January and have loved having him join their crew. Along with their two sweet dogs, they are adjusting well to family life and have fallen into a fun routine of cuddles, reading, playing with the dogs, and daily walks in their lovely neighborhood (in addition to lots of eating and diaper changes, of course!) They describe their son as being a very easygoing and inquisitive baby.
• Both parents have busy professional lives outside of the home and are seeking a nanny who can provide a fun-loving, enriching environment while they are at work! They live in a beautiful neighborhood with cafes, grocery stores, and parks nearby. While travel isn’t a major part of the role, someone who is keen to join them on a couple of trips in the future would be wonderful. Candidates must love dogs as they will be around during the day, and the family works with a dog walker to ensure their care. The parents hope to find a caregiver who can show their son the same kindness and attention they seek to give him every day as they transition into full-time nanny care!

Ideal candidate: 

• This position is ideal for someone who is safety-oriented and attuned to the child’s needs! This is a child-focused position, and all duties will be child-related and predominantly focus on meeting their child’s developmental needs. The family looks forward to fostering a relaxed, open, respectful, and close-knit relationship with their nanny.
• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to bottle sanitization, managing day-to-day care, and keeping the child’s daily environment tidy and organized.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would be excited to meet a candidate who would love to work with their family for the long haul!

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants
• Valid driver’s license
• Up to date on all vaccinations for the duration of employment (e.g. COVID, Tdap, MMR, TB, Flu)
• Pet friendly (must love dogs!)
