A dynamic Bay Area family team is seeking an experienced RIE and/or educationally-minded nanny to join them in caring for their school-aged children!

  • Location: San Francisco, CA
  • Ages of children: 2 children, preschool and early elementary-aged
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 45 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 11am to 7:30pm or similar.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $50-65+/hour based on the 45-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $125-160k+/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance. A vehicle will be provided for professional use.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.

Household dynamic:

  • This close-knit family team is seeking a nanny to join them in caring for two children! The children are bright, social, funny, curious, and affectionate. They enjoy reading and music and are described as having creative, playful spirits.
  • The family enjoys traveling primarily within the US and visiting other residences for long weekends or weeklong trips throughout the year. They will appreciate a nanny who is excited to join them on their travels. This is a communicative family team environment where a candidate will work alongside parents, a team of two ROTA nannies, and other staff to ensure the children’s needs are met. The family follows a respectful approach to care and will enjoy working with a candidate who aligns with these philosophies and can be a positive role model for their children!

Ideal candidate: 

  • This position is ideal for a confident and adaptable nanny who is eager to be a loving, trustworthy, and learning-oriented companion to the children. Experience with neurodivergent children, a commitment to child-led and respectful caregiving, and a strong understanding of co-regulation are essential. A candidate who is able to model compassionate boundaries and bring a modern, educationally-forward approach to supporting neurodivergent children who are intellectually gifted will be highly valued. The ideal candidate will also bring a collaborative spirit, eager to contribute to a busy household with multiple ongoing projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • This is a child-focused role. Responsibilities include creating a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children to grow and thrive. Child-related household tasks including but not limited to homework help, meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, supporting bedtime and school routines, meal cleanup, coordinating and monitoring age-appropriate activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A willingness to assist with child-related projects will be key.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family will prioritize candidates who are familiar or experienced with RIE and/or have a background in elementary education.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional childcare experience
  • Able to lift 35 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Previous experience supporting neurodivergent children
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
