Household dynamic:

  • This humble and adventurous MA-based family is seeking a fun and organized nanny/family assistant to join them in caring for their children! They have three bubbly daughters who fill their home with joy and laughter. The two older children love Taylor Swift, meatballs, disco baths, gymnastics, and spending time in the water all summer. Both children attend regular school during the day. During this time, the nanny will focus on caring for the baby. A candidate who can create a loving environment for the children while maintaining clear and nurturing boundaries will be a great fit. Someone who can engage with them after school and add excitement to their daily routines will be wonderful!
  • This is a dual-career household where both parents work from home in a separate office. Both parents love to stay involved with their children’s lives, whether taking on naptimes or school pick-up. They love the outdoors and spend their summers hiking, biking, sailing, and skiing. They enjoy quality time and traveling with family, spending mid-June through Labor Day in Northeast Harbor, Maine, a week in Jamaica for springtime, another week in Finger Lakes in New York, and a few weeks skiing in Vermont. A candidate who likes life on the go and is excited to join the family adventures will be a wonderful addition to the team! The family also employs a housekeeper in Concord and Maine. A team-minded candidate who can work well alongside the parents and other household staff is important!

Ideal Candidate

  • This position is ideal for someone who is an adaptable, organized nanny with strong executive functioning skills! Someone who can connect on the children’s level, bringing playfulness and laughter into their day. The family enjoys ski trips and outdoor adventures year-round and would love to have an active-minded candidate who loves to explore the outdoors join them! Knowledge and experience in gentle and positive parenting style while maintaining firm and loving boundaries to their child-led care is key! The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a household with parents working from home and is confident in collaborating with a hands-on Mom. The family values commitment and seeks a candidate who is excited about stepping into their next long-term role and eager to build a strong, lasting partnership while supporting the household. They foster fun and minimal screen time with the kids. A candidate who can maintain fun, low-tech days – where screen time is reserved for special occasions will be beneficial! Confidence in caring for a toddler to early grade-school-age children will be highly appreciated.

Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would strongly encourage candidates to apply who find fulfillment in enjoying the outdoors outside of “work.”

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddler to early grade-school-age children
  • Longevity in previous roles
  • Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
