Full-Time Household Manager / Family Assistant in Santa Monica, CA

Family Syllabus: A dynamic and fun-loving family of four in vibrant Santa Monica, CA, is on the hunt for a versatile and proactive household manager to help juggle their busy lives. With two elementary-aged children, as well as two adorable small dogs and two homes to manage, this family needs someone who can handle it all with ease and enthusiasm. Your day will begin when the kids head off to school, from 9 AM to 3 PM (and sometimes later with after-school activities), giving you time to support their parents with household tasks and keep everything running smoothly. Mom and Dad both work inside and outside of the home, so they’re looking for a multitasking pro who can seamlessly handle everything from running errands to managing pet care. The dogs need the occasional walk, feeding, and vet visits, so comfort with pets is a must. 

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for this role is a proactive and detail-oriented Family Assistant or Household Manager with a strong organizational mindset to feel empowered quickly with all household management. This will include organizing closets and shelves for both homes. Noticing things that need to be repaired and being proactive in calling on the handyman as needed. Please be excellent at time management, tech-savvy, compassionate, and reliable, someone who can truly be a team player, possess excellent communication skills, a kind demeanor, and high emotional intelligence, and knows how to read a room.  A love for working with children is essential, and comfort around a pool is important, as safety is key. This person should be comfortable supporting the children with homework and school projects while ensuring the household’s smooth operation. An assistant who has experience working with kids and can provide kind but firm boundaries for them.  Bonus points if you speak Spanish or French! This is a fast-paced, ever-evolving role suited for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being an integral part of a dynamic, active family.

Job Synopsis: The role includes transporting the kids to and from school and activities ensuring they stay clean, healthy, and organized. The kids are active and full of energy, so a high-energy, hands-on approach is a must! In addition to childcare, you’ll maintain the family calendar, manage the household, like laundry, organizing closets, including lunches and snacks for the children. You’ll also assist with keeping the home neat and tidy, supporting the cleaning crew, and ensuring all supplies are stocked, including groceries and household essentials. You’ll manage the family’s schedule with attention to detail, from vet appointments for their two small dogs to overseeing home maintenance and service providers to gift buying. The schedule for this position will be Monday to Friday, 10:30 am – 6:30 pm with the flexibility to stay later some evenings, occasional overnights, weekends, and travel both domestically and internationally with the family. This role pays $125k+/year with 2 weeks of paid vacation, sick days, and holidays. This role also requires a clean driving record, as you’ll drive the kids to their activities and errands when needed and the family will provide a vehicle while working. The family is hoping for someone who lives relatively close to Santa Monica.

Qualifications:

Five years of professional family assistant or household manager experience

TrustLine certified 

Travel Nanny experience

CPR/first aid certification
