Description:

A welcoming and loving family in Glen Allen is seeking a kind, dependable, long-term nanny to care for their almost 2-year-old twin boys and 6-year-old daughter.

Twin A is blossoming into his personality! Outgoing, social, and friendly, he thrives on interactions with others, eagerly engaging with those around him and confidently expressing his needs and desires. He loves exploring new experiences, whether it’s discovering a new toy, visiting an unfamiliar place, or meeting new people. Outdoor activities like riding his bike or playing on the swing set bring him joy, and he’s equally enthusiastic about indoor adventures like reading books and making trips to the library.

Twin B is the quieter counterpart, with a shy and introverted nature. While it takes time for him to warm up to new people, he forms deep bonds, especially with his mom, to whom he is very attached. He prefers extra reassurance and often seeks comfort by being picked up when upset. Like his brother, he enjoys being outside, riding his bike, and playing on the swings.

The twins, born prematurely, are transitioning into the toddler stage and, like many at this age, can be fussy and selective eaters. A caregiver experienced in managing mealtime challenges and encouraging healthy eating habits will thrive in supporting their development.

Their 6-year-old daughter is a bit shy and takes time to feel comfortable with new people, but her independence shines through once she’s at ease. She has a creative spirit and a strong passion for arts and crafts. Currently enrolled in 1st grade, she attends school from 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., and the nanny will assist with her school pick-up.

Mom and Dad embrace gentle parenting, focusing on empathy, emotional connection, and respect for our children's needs. Their approach includes offering comfort during shyness or clinginess, adapting to their children’s individual personalities, nurturing without tension (like managing fussy eating), and setting gentle boundaries to guide development. They prioritize creating meaningful family moments, from everyday connections to special occasions.

This family is seeking a warm and trustworthy nanny who aligns with their gentle parenting approach, offering patience and empathy to support and adapt care to their twins' unique personalities, encouraging sociability while respecting shyness, and having the creativity to make mealtimes manageable for picky eaters. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential for juggling care for all three children, household tasks, and school schedules. Familiarity with child development, safety, and the unique needs of preterm children is key, with early childhood education being a plus. Proactive, attentive, and respectful of Mom and Dad’s parenting style, the right nanny will foster a nurturing and supportive environment for their family. Punctuality and reliability are essential.

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for fostering creativity and growth through interactive play, storytime, and sensory activities, planning engaging outdoor adventures, from park visits to backyard games, to encourage physical activity, inspiring a love for learning with crafts, imaginative play, and music-based activities and facilitating sibling bonding through group games and shared experiences. You’ll also be responsible for all child-related tasks including planning engaging and age-appropriate activities, child-related transportation, preparing healthy meals and snacks, and tending to children’s laundry. Additionally, you'll help with occasional errands and writing grocery lists.
