A family of three in San Mateo is seeking a loving, experienced nanny for their baby girl who will be 5 months old in January. They are looking for a long term relationship with their nanny, ideally someone they can work with for several years. Responsibilities include working toward developmental milestones, planning age-appropriate activities and outings, and providing a safe, nurturing environment in which their baby will thrive.

Additional duties include child’s laundry, keeping child’s bedroom and play areas clean and organized, preparing the child’s bottles, snacks, and meals, seeking out activities for the child, helping with developmental transitions, and general light tidying.

The best person for them is actively engaged and present with their daughter, and genuinely enjoys working as a team with parents to provide the best possible care for their baby!

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

  • Fluency in English

Qualifications

  • COVID-vaccinated + booster
  • CPR Certified
  • TB and Tdap vaccine
  • Valid driver with clean record (family will reimburse for mileage for any work-related driving though most activities are in walking distance)
  • Loving, warm and calm presence
  • Experienced with infants – toddlers and various stages of development
  • Excellent communication
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Can make a long term commitment (ideally several years)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment
  • Engaging in and planning age appropriate activities and play
  • Maintain effective and transparent communication with parents
  • Preparing bottles; helping with transition to solids and preparing simple healthy baby-friendly meals
  • Child’s laundry
  • Light tidying (keeping baby’s room and play/common areas neat, loading/unloading the dishwasher, wiping down counters/high chair, etc.)
