Loving & organized first-time parents in Bethesda, MD are in search of a gentle and responsive full-time nanny with infant expertise to lovingly tend to their 3.5-month-old baby boy. This family resides in Bethesda and is open to both live-in and live-out candidates. They are also looking for a nanny who can accompany them to Florida from February 24th to April 10th, with separate living accommodations provided during this time.

Their son is an intuitive and content little one who is thriving and is steadily building strength during tummy time. He is already beginning to use words and sign language, highlighting his need for dedicated and purposeful learning. He is bottle and breastfed with allergies to cow's milk protein, soy, and eggs, which the family carefully manages.

As Christian-based parents, they aspire to cultivate a future-minded, nurturing, compassionate, and hands-on parenting approach. Both parents work from home in separate office spaces so will be in and out of the house throughout the day. With a trained Australian Shepherd and 2 feline friends in the mix, being pet-friendly is essential.

They’re looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and punctual who can thrive in a structured environment and anticipate the needs of their baby. The role involves ensuring seamless care during their busy schedules and requires someone who can create and execute a schedule for the child without step-by-step directions from the parents. 

The ideal candidate will embrace the close bond of a nanny-family relationship, caring for their son with the same empathy and dedication as they would their own. They are seeking an exceptional nanny who brings a perfect blend of compassion and focus to their home. With a curious and engaged son who is eager to explore the world, they value someone who can thoughtfully stimulate his developing mind through enriching activities, outings and intentional guidance without using any screens or TV. A proactive nanny who stays two or three steps ahead, seamlessly coaching their baby and family while confidently taking the reins, will be the ideal fit for this household. Anticipating the child's needs, such as preparing bottles and maintaining a schedule, will allow mom and dad to enjoy quality time with their baby. The family values bilingualism and strongly prefers candidates fluent in a second language, preferably European and Romance Languages (German, Spanish, Portuguese, French), to apply. While not a requirement, applicants with a background in early childhood education and coursework relating to child-brain development are also highly encouraged to apply to support the family’s focus on fostering a strong developmental foundation. An understanding of childhood nutrition and making infant food is a strong positive.

As their child grows, the family plans to incorporate travel into their routine, with potential destinations including Europe and various domestic locations. International travel will typically range for up to 10 days at a time, with domestic travel being closer to 3-4 days. The family also has a recurring winter trip to a Florida residence. A willingness and ability to travel is essential for this role.

This individual’s responsibilities will include all child-related tasks including providing reliable care, providing guidance around developmental milestones, preparing and sterilizing bottles and breast pump parts, doing baby laundry, keeping the baby’s areas clean and organized, making homemade baby food when appropriate, and utilizing BabyConnect to keep track of the baby's eating, sleeping, and diapering habits and developmental milestones. Light housekeeping related to the baby including loading and unloading the bottle washer will be requested.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional childcare experience
• Experience working with infants 
• Bilingual, preferably in German, French, Spanish, or Portuguese
• Willingness to pursue professional growth and development
• High school diploma
• Bachelor's degree or higher in child development or a related field preferred
• At least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Clean driving record
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Pet Friendly
• Valid US passport
• Drug and tobacco-free

Schedule

The schedule is full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week. The general schedule will fall on Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Candidates must be flexible to work weekends on occasion or additional hours during the week. 

Compensation

The family is offering $40-65/hr based upon 40 hours per week which equates to up to $1,600-$2,600/week, and an anticipated annual base income of up to $130,000+/year. This position is paid legally, on a W-2, subject to regular deductions and withholdings as required by law. The family is open to considering candidates requesting a higher compensation package based on their experience.

Benefits

The family is open to providing a $200 monthly healthcare stipend, 10 days of paid vacation, 5 paid sick days, paid major holidays (or time and a half if working on the holidays) if they fall within the working week, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate for on-the-job duties, relocation assistance (if needed), and a generous housing stipend (if needed). Live-in candidates will have a beautiful private room and bathroom in the basement of the family’s home. Candidates will also have separate and private living accommodations when they are in Florida or traveling otherwise.
