Part to Full Time Family Assistant

Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Family Assistant to support a loving family with a 6-year-old daughter on the autism spectrum. The family has two Beagles, and two kittens. The ideal candidate will understand ABA strategies and have experience working with children with PDA (Pervasive Drive for Autonomy), particularly in supporting a child who needs predictability, autonomy, and gentle transitions. Although working hours are typically 12-6 PM with flexibility required. This role combines household management with occasional childcare, requiring someone who can work independently to maintain household organization, implement storage solutions, handle daily tasks such as dishes, laundry, and meal prep, while supporting mom's essential self-care time. Candidates need to be flexible and be able to help mom with what she needs help with which can differ day to day.

Required Skills:
The successful candidate must possess strong organizational skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining clear communication about schedule changes and upcoming activities. Experience with children on the autism spectrum and understanding of ABA strategies is very helpful, but we need a gentle and kind approach in all things, as the role requires following the child's lead during play, supporting self-regulation, and providing consistent empathetic support. Key responsibilities include implementing organizational systems, managing household tasks, grocery shopping and possibly handling returns. The position requires someone who can balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining a patient, empathetic demeanor and understanding of the unique needs of a child with PDA, including their need for control over their environment and careful handling of transitions. Previous household management experience is preferred, and the right candidate will become an integral part of the family's support system.

M-F 12-6 with some flexibility ro come early or stay later.

Hourly/Salary:
35.-40.
