A busy family in the Inner Sunset is seeking a loving, dedicated Nanny/Family Assistant to help with childcare and keep the household running smoothly. Their children are 3 months, 2 and 4 years old with the older to being in daycare and preschool. They are looking for someone to partner with them and essentially work as a 3rd parent. Responsibilities include childcare for one or all three children as needed, driving to/from school and activities, planning fun things to do and engaging in play, running errands, light tidying, simple meal prep/cooking, family laundry, and organization.

The best person for them is discrete, team-oriented, proactive, and flexible.

SCHEDULE:

  • Their ideal schedule is a split-shift Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 9/10 a.m. + 12/1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with or without one weekend day 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Alternatively they would also consider just the afternoons: Monday to Thursday 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. + Friday 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

TRAVEL: This position requires travel approximately 2-3 months throughout the year with most travel falling during the summer (2 weeks domestic and 1.5 months abroad) as well as a week here or there during the spring and fall.

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years minimum experience working as a nanny/family assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

  • Fluency in English

Qualifications

  • COVID-vaccinated + boosted (ideally willing to have a current booster)
  • TB and Tdap vaccine
  • CPR Certified
  • Valid driver with clean record (family can provide a household vehicle for driving the children)
  • Must be able and willing to travel about 2-3 months per year
  • Discrete
  • Mature and trustworthy
  • Flexibility – can accommodate schedule changes and occasional weekends
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can make a long term commitment (at least a year, ideally longer)

Responsibilities

  • Providing childcare for one or all three children as needed
  • Partnering with parents to divide and conquer essentially working as 3rd parent
  • Planning activities and engaging in play
  • Help with preparing meals and snacks for children
  • Meal prep and simple cooking as needed for the family
  • Light cleaning (washing dishes, loading/unloading dishwasher, clearing the table, keeping children’s rooms and play/common areas tidy)
  • Assisting with daily routines (bathing, teeth brushing, dressing, etc.)
  • Family laundry
  • Running errands (groceries, returns, dry cleaning, etc.)
  • Household organization
  • Packing children for travel
