A family in the Castro is seeking a genuine, energetic full-time nanny to care for their baby who will be 5-months old in May. They are looking for someone engaging who will follow their son’s curiosity and nurture his interests. Responsibilities include planning age-appropriate activities, working on milestones, preparing bottles, helping with developmental transitions, child laundry, and light tidying.

Candidates should be comfortable working with parents at home (stay-at-home mom and dad working remotely), and have a reliable vehicle for commuting to/from work (ample street parking is available). The best person for them is eager to learn and brings new ideas to work while collaborating with the parents. Someone enthusiastic who truly loves being a nanny!

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years minimum experience working as a Nanny with excellent verifiable references
  • Experience working with infants (4 months+) and toddlers

Educational Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in French or Mandarin (nice to have, not required)

Qualifications

  • COVID-vaccinated + boosted
  • TB, Tdap, and Flu vaccines
  • CPR Certified
  • Valid driver with clean record (strongly prefer a candidate with a reliable vehicle for commuting to/from work; ample street parking available)
  • Must be comfortable with dogs
  • Comfortable with stay-at-home mom and dad working from home
  • High energy
  • Enthusiastic
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year is a nice to have, but not required
  • Eager to learn; brings new ideas and collaborates with parents
  • Effective and clear communication skills
  • Physically able to go up and down stairs while carrying the child
  • Experience dealing with emergencies
  • Experience with infants (4 months+) and toddlers
  • Can make at least a 1.5 year commitment, ideally longer

Responsibilities

  • Follow child’s curiosity
  • Nurture development and plan age-appropriate activities
  • Prepare, wash, sanitize bottles
  • Assist with developmental transitions such as naps, solids, potty training
  • Child’s laundry
  • Light tidying (nursery, common areas, play areas, kitchen)
  • Organization of child play areas, clothing, etc.
