Salary: $30.00 - $35.00 Hourly
Application Deadline: Apr 16, 2025
Family Assistant

A Raleigh, North Carolina, family is seeking a nurturing and Montessori-minded nanny/family assistant to care for their two-year-old daughter.

This sweet child is bright, curious, wonderfully sensitive, and observant. She has a big imagination, loves playing pretend with her dinosaurs and calico critters for hours on end. With a heart full of wonder, she’s drawn to animals and plants, making every day an exciting adventure in discovery. Mom and daughter often find themselves putting things aside to sit and read together, visit museums, build forts, and have dance parties. The ideal nanny will prioritize playtime, be able to follow the child’s lead and follow Montessori techniques, and have excellent judgment. This is a screen-free household. This bright and perceptive little one is highly intuitive and sensitive, quickly picking up on the emotions and dynamics around her. She is inquisitive, curious, and playful- always ready to have a good time.

Her mom is wholeheartedly devoted to her daughter, making her the top priority in every aspect of her life. She is deeply committed to being present, engaged, and intentional in her parenting. Her passion for the Montessori philosophy shines through in her dedication to creating an environment where her daughter feels truly seen, heard, and respected. With unwavering love and care, they nurture her with a deep sense of dignity, empowering her to grow with confidence and independence. When it comes to nutrition, she encourages her daughter to listen to her body, fostering a sense of autonomy in her choices. The ideal nanny will easily adapt to the family's norms and practices. As a family, they love dance parties, going to museums and the beach, and enjoying nature together on walks. Arts and crafts, slime, and playdough are some of their favorite hands-on activities, while Friday nights are always set aside for movie nights! This role includes travel, with a planned trip to Europe in April.

The perfect nanny is someone with a child-centered approach and a natural maternal personality who truly loves and values children. Someone playful and engaging who is ready for hours of imaginative pretend play, and isn’t afraid of getting their hands dirty! They will use playtime as a way to explore and discover through hands-on educational activities, promoting self-directed learning. Their focus will be on respecting the child’s needs and wants, creating opportunities for joyful adventures that lead to discovery and wonder. A reliable and loving childcare provider who is knowledgeable and professional is essential. While not a requirement, candidates with experience or a background in Montessori education will likely find a great match here and are encouraged to apply.

In this role, responsibilities will include all aspects of childcare, including planning Montessori-age-appropriate activities, and providing nutritious meals and snacks. Other duties will include assisting with housekeeping; keeping the play areas clean and organized, maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen, cleaning out the family car, and folding and putting away laundry.
