• Location: Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, New York
• Ages of children: 1.5 and 6 years old
• Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing a minimum of 45 hours per week with the general schedule falling on four days a week from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm and one day a week from 9:00 am to 10:30 pm for weekly date nights. Candidates can anticipate working between 45 and 52 hours per week. Flexibility for occasional weekend, evening, and travel coverage will be requested in advance and appreciated.
• Compensation: The family is offering $40/hour based on the 45-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $99k/year.
• Benefits: The family will provide two weeks of paid time off (efforts to coordinate with family’s vacation schedule appreciated), paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, professional use of the family’s vehicle, and a metro card reimbursement as needed.

• This caring and friendly family of four is seeking an educationally-minded and grounded nanny to join them in caring for their two loving children! The family fosters a loving home and is fortunate to live in a family neighborhood where both children enjoy playing. At 6 years old, his parents describe their oldest as bright, sensitive, and empathetic, and as someone who responds well to warm and playful people. He currently attends a Spanish immersion kindergarten where he is thriving. He has an active social life and interests including music, yoga, and chess. At 1.5 years old, their youngest is often found smiling and moving! She is spunky but sweet, loves cuddles and climbing anything she can, and enjoys learning new words, dancing to music, and following her brother whenever possible. She currently attends drop-in activities like music, gym, and playgroups and will be starting a part-time 2’s program in the fall. The family is excited to welcome a nurturing and engaging nanny who can actively support their children’s early growth and development while sparking their curiosity.
• This is a dual-career household where both parents are in and out of the home regularly. They are a playful family who enjoy listening to music, having family meals, spending time with family and friends, and continuing to learn and grow together. They also enjoy traveling throughout the year, including trips to destinations like Europe, California, upstate NY, and the Rocky Mountains. The family is passionate about finding the balance between spending quality time together and seeing and exploring the world. They would love to work with a candidate who is excited to join their family adventures and confident in providing an attentive and excellent childcare experience! Someone who is team-minded and works well with the family and other household staff, including a housekeeper, will be a wonderful addition to the team!

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for a calm, kind, and intuitive nanny with a genuine passion for supporting the growth of spirited children! The family hopes to work with an experienced nanny who enjoys nurturing young children’s emotional and developmental growth, supporting their curiosity through enriching and playful activities, and providing them with a learning-oriented environment. Someone playful and caring who can gently guide the children with positive reinforcement while being attuned to their needs will be a perfect fit! A proactive and reliable candidate who is confident in managing the rhythm of the day and has a see-a-need, fill-a-need approach in supporting the family will be key. Responsibilities include childcare and family-assisting duties. Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating household vendors, household organization and tidying, and managing the family calendar.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Spanish and/or has an ECE background.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience, experience with multiple children preferred
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers through grade school-age children
• Family assistant experience
• Comfortable preparing healthy meals for the children (and occasionally the family)
• Ability to swim and comfortable caring for children in and near water
• Valid passport and driver's license
• Experience working in NYC preferred
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
