Description:
A welcoming family is seeking an energetic nanny to care for their energetic 6-year-old daughter.
Full of energy, their adorable 6-year-old daughter is always on the move. She’s a bright and spirited young girl with a strong will and a vibrant personality! Friendly and outgoing, she loves connecting with others and brings a lively energy to any room. She is curious and thrives with variety and engagement, as she tends to seek out new and exciting activities when things slow down. With a busy schedule, she attends kindergarten from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. She’s very smart, and people often find her to be beyond her classmates. In her free time, she loves doing arts, crafts, and playdates. She also participates in after-school activities, enjoys going to the park, and swimming in the pool. Her summer plans include summer camp from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. She has type 1 diabetes and ADHD, both of which are well-managed with medication. The ideal nanny will be knowledgeable and bring a supportive and proactive approach, assisting with meals, medication, and encouraging her independence along the way.
Mom is a dedicated and hard-working woman who leads her family with care and love, while also supporting and regularly visiting her husband, currently in a nursing home. While they do not adhere to any specific childcare philosophy, they describe their parenting style as loving, nurturing, and laid-back. As a family, they do lots of fun activities, like spending time with friends, travelling, and doing arts and crafts together. Mom will be going back to work in the fall, with a weekly rotating schedule. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible and adaptable to meet this family’s evolving needs. Upon Mom’s return to work, the nanny will also be responsible for school drop-offs. They should possess a unique blend of calm authority, compassion, and a calm demeanor. Energetic and patient, the right nanny will be able to keep up with their daughter’s busy schedule and active nature. Lastly, they will have to epitomize reliability, honesty, and kindness while always prioritizing the child’s well-being and making thoughtful and informed decisions.
This exciting role’s responsibilities have a special focus on childcare. The nanny will be monitoring their daughter’s blood sugar levels at all times and administering insulin as needed for carb counts and elevated levels. Additional duties will include safely driving their daughter to and from kindergarten and different activities, providing attentive sick care if needed, light preparation of healthy meals and snacks, and cleaning up afterwards. The nanny will also plan fun, educational, age-appropriate activities, coordinate playdates with friends, and actively engage in playtime. Lastly, they will assist with light household tasks such as general tidying and organizing, running errands, and loading and unloading the dishwasher, among others.
