ORGANIZED + COMPASSIONATE NANNY NEEDED FOR FAMILY IN FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA

Schedule: 25 guaranteed hrs/week. Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 8 PM or 4 PMto 9 PM.

A nurturing and welcoming Dad is on the lookout for an adaptable and energetic nanny to care for his active 6-year-old children.

 

His 6-year-old daughter is outgoing and talkative, with a natural sense of leadership and a strong drive to do things just right. She has a competitive spirit, especially when it comes to activities she loves. While she’s not drawn to sports, she thrives in creative and imaginative play and enjoys activities like reading, crafting, drawing, and acting. She also enjoys swimming, helping out in the yard or kitchen, building with Legos, and anything that lets her express herself and take the lead.

 

His 6-year-old son may start off a bit shy, but once he feels comfortable, his personality shines. With a love for the outdoors, he enjoys mountain biking, skiing, playing soccer or tennis, or helping with yard work alongside his sister. While he’s not quite as detail-oriented as his sister, he’s equally competitive and brings plenty of energy and enthusiasm to everything he does.

 

These globally-minded siblings are adventurous eaters with a love for diverse foods from sushi and Thai to Peruvian, German, and everything in between. They are well-traveled and bilingual and have explored countries like Iceland, Portugal, and China, and they bring a curious, open-minded spirit and appreciation for everything they do.

 

Dad is very energetic and caring, and he highly values organization, structure, and planning. His parenting style is best described as thoughtful and authoritative. Naturally a planner, he approaches parenting with a sense of structure and intention, often thinking several steps ahead. He prioritizes teaching over telling, offering clear explanations and the reasoning behind expectations to help his children understand the “why” behind the “what.” He gives his children the freedom to choose how they approach tasks, gently guiding them with reminders. If a situation calls for urgency, he steps in with direct instructions, always coming back to explain the reasoning once the moment has passed. This family thrives with routines and plans, and they are always on the go, from one activity to the next. This family loves to stay active together, so they often go mountain biking or hiking whenever the weather allows it, and play in the backyard, kicking the soccer ball. They also love to plan one major activity a week, which can be anything along the lines of visiting the National Aquarium in Baltimore, going to a circus show, camping, or visiting a different city. Dad enjoys cooking one meal a week and has the kids help on the side. With plans to add a canine friend into the mix (a Portuguese Water Dog), being pet-friendly is essential. 

 

The ideal candidate for this dynamic family of 3 will be innately warm and caring, as well as decisive and adaptable. They will also bring an organized and proactive personality to the table, along with a compassionate and can-do attitude, anticipating needs while making informed decisions. An energetic nanny who is honest and reliable will be a great fit, someone who can also mirror Dad’s approach by offering gentle guidance and providing the children with both structure and autonomy. The nanny will genuinely care for the children, and will cook delicious meals for the kids and actively engage with them.

 

This individual’s responsibilities will include childcare as well as home-related tasks. The nanny will be planning fun, educational, age-appropriate activities for the kids, checking and helping with homework, safely transporting them to and from activities, tidying up children’s common areas, as well as cooking for them. Additional tasks will encompass cleaning up after children’s/nanny’s meals and snacks and loading the dishwasher afterwards, organizing play dates, doing laundry, and general house tidying and organizing.

 

Qualifications 

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• High school diploma
• At least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Clean driving record
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Pet Friendly

 

Schedule

Part-time, guaranteeing 25 hours per week. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 8 PM or 4 PM- 9 PM.

 

Compensation

The family is offering $30-$35/hour based upon 25 guaranteed hours per week which equates to up to $750-$875/week, and an anticipated annual base income of $39k-45k+/year. This position is paid legally, on a W-2, subject to regular deductions and withholdings as required by law.
