Description:

A warm and welcoming family is seeking an experienced, proactive, and nurturing full-time nanny to join them in Durham, NC. The family recently relocated from New York and welcomed their first child, a sweet and easygoing baby girl, in early May. Both parents are busy professionals, and as mom prepares to return to work, they are looking for a dedicated and collaborative caregiver to become a valued part of their team.

About the Role:

This is a long-term, full-time position with core hours from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, they would appreciate flexibility to stay as late as 6:30 PM on occasion. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5+ years of professional nanny experience across multiple families and have a genuine passion for child development. The family is seeking someone who is highly organized, proactive, and structured, someone who thrives in a routine-driven environment and aligns well with a detail-oriented, Type-A mom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, loving care to an infant

  • Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment

  • Plan and engage in age-appropriate developmental activities

  • Take the child to classes, story time at the library, and other enriching outings

  • Prepare bottles, handle the baby’s laundry, and assist with light household duties related to the child

  • Maintain a clean and organized environment

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with parents, keeping them informed and involved

  • Travel with the family as needed (particularly early on, depending on breastfeeding needs)

Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Experienced with infants (5+ years in similar roles) and has worked with multiple families

  • Flexible and collaborative, not set in their ways, but willing to align with the family’s parenting style

  • Exceptionally organized and proactive

  • Warm, kind, and enjoyable to be around

  • Playful, energetic, and hands-on

  • Strong communicator

  • Committed to long-term employment

  • Passionate about early childhood development

  • Fluent in a second language (strong preference for French, but open to any language)

Requirements:

  • Up-to-date on all standard childhood vaccinations

  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license

  • Own vehicle for commuting (family vehicle provided for child transportation)

  • Non-smoker and no drug use

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience

  • Guaranteed hours and paid time off

  • Opportunity to grow with a lovely family and be a cherished part of their child’s life

This is a truly special opportunity to support a wonderful family at the beginning of their parenting journey. They’re excited to welcome someone who will love and nurture their daughter as much as they do and become a cherished part of their lives for years to come.
