Description:
A warm and devoted single mom is looking for a dependable, flexible nanny and family assistant to support her two boys, ages 10-year-old & 8-year-old, while also helping to keep her home and work life running smoothly.
Her oldest child is 10 years old. He is a very responsible and independent young gentleman. He’s also very kind and has a servant heart, always ready to help his Mom and brother. He loves to spend hours playing outdoors, and sports like basketball and baseball are among his favorites. He also enjoys quieter activities like reading a good book and playing the piano.
The youngest in the family is a sweet, energetic 8-year-old boy who thrives on outdoor play and staying active. He loves riding his bike or scooter, swinging, and spending time outside whenever possible. At the same time, he enjoys quiet moments and often gravitates toward independent activities like playing with musical toys, relaxing on his glider, or bouncing on his indoor trampoline. To keep him safe and comfortable during playtime, the nanny will need to be mindful of his specific allergies and special needs. His allergies include sensitivities to trees, cats, dogs, many sunscreen brands, and cold weather. Diagnosed with generalized global delays (GDD), he would benefit from a candidate who offers active engagement paired with thoughtful supervision and can balance his love of movement with his need for calm, independent activities when needed.
Mom is a dedicated and hardworking orthodontist who works away from home several days a week. Despite her demanding schedule, she beautifully balances her professional responsibilities with being an incredibly loving and affectionate mother. Her parenting style is based on clear communication of rules and expectations, paired with empathy and flexibility. She approaches discipline through dialogue, support, and guidance. A bit of an introvert herself, Mom gravitates toward people who are joyful, easygoing, positive-minded, and respectful. As a family, they love to spend quality time together at the lake, and they can often be spotted playing outside, and engaging in sports, and simply enjoying time with each other.
The ideal candidate for this family is proactive and intuitive, with the ability to anticipate needs without being asked. They are reliable, punctual, and fully committed to the position. This person is gentle yet firm, able to provide consistent guidance and discipline through positive reinforcement and respectful communication. They will help the children develop emotional regulation skills in a supportive and constructive way. Flexibility and versatility are essential in this role, as the day-to-day responsibilities may shift. A willingness to assist Mom with work-related matters, such as handling phone calls or stepping in on small projects, is appreciated. The ideal candidate will also be tech-savvy and highly organized, ready to help keep everything running smoothly both at home and in Mom’s office.
In this dynamic and rewarding role, the nanny/family assistant will be an essential part of the family’s day-to-day rhythm, taking on a hands-on role in both childcare and household management. Responsibilities will include caring for the children, preparing their meals, snacks, and school lunches, engaging in creative and active play, and safely driving them to and from school and various activities. On the home front, the role involves managing the children’s laundry, keeping the home tidy, and organized. The right candidate will take pride in creating a smooth and supportive environment where both the kids and Mom can thrive.
In addition to home support, this position includes helping Mom transition into her office hours. You may be asked to assist at her orthodontic practice with light administrative tasks or jump in on small projects that keep things moving behind the scenes. At its core, this role is about being the steady, reliable support that helps everything run smoothly at home, at work, and everywhere in between. If you're someone who’s dependable, flexible, organized, and genuinely enjoys making life easier for others, this is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a kind, caring, and close-knit family. We’d love to hear from you!
