We are seeking a dynamic, high-energy nanny/educator for a unique hybrid role combining traditional nannying with innovative teaching opportunities. This full-time position offers 40 guaranteed hours per week with a flexible schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday focused on nanny duties, and Tuesday and Thursday dedicated to leading a teaching pod (8-4 or 9-5). Starting immediately as a nanny role, the position will transition in September to include coordinating a teaching pod with children from the current school, with teaching hours compensated at a premium rate of $65-75 hourly. We're looking for someone who can become a trusted part of the family's routine. Someone reliable, kind, and aligned with the Principals parenting values. This role offers excellent benefits including a provided vehicle, potential travel opportunities, PTO, paid holidays, and guaranteed hours. Ideal candidates will have their backgrounds in ECE or hold a CA teaching credential.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, engaging professional who can create a structured, classroom-like environment while incorporating Reggio and Montessori philosophies through play-based learning and exploration. The children are curious, active, and love being outside, doing creative projects, and exploring new things, so experience with early childhood education or genuine interest in facilitating learning through outdoor adventures and hands-on activities is essential. Responsibilities include all child-related duties such as laundry, room organization, and toy rotation, plus light housekeeping (unloading dishwasher, cleaning environments as you go). We seek someone who provides 100% attention and engagement, serves as a positive role model with excellent manners, and can implement firm but fair discipline with logical consequences. The successful candidate must be comfortable building trust gradually while following parental guidance initially, then transitioning to full autonomy. Willingness to facilitate fun outings and various field trips is essential. The family values enriching experiences, healthy eating habits, and supporting the children's after-school activities. Candidates should be highly familiar with redirection methodology, positive reinforcement and choice strategies.
