Family Syllabus: A warm and engaging single father in San Mateo seeks a dedicated family assistant to help keep his busy household running smoothly and contribute to the nurturing and development of his delightful 3-year-old son. His son attends preschool Tuesday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. He loves monster trucks, Legos, sea creatures, and playing with his friends. He is affectionate and very articulate. Dad envisions someone who can thoughtfully model positive social behaviors while fostering a stimulating and joyful environment within their dynamic household when his son is home. 

Ideal Candidate: This single father is seeking a highly experienced and compassionate family assistant to partner with him in nurturing his young son while helping him maintain his schedule and household. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of toddler development. He values flexibility and is particularly interested in a family assistant who can maintain his household by keeping the home clean and organized, schedule appointments and keep his calendar in order, run errands, meal prep, and drive his son to and from school and other activities.  A successful candidate will exhibit poise, discernment, adaptability, strong emotional intelligence, and be an excellent communicator. He envisions a family assistant who will actively engage with his son’s natural curiosity, fostering a loving and stimulating environment. Proficiency in gentle parenting techniques and enforcing healthy boundaries as he aims to create a consistent and supportive extension of his parenting approach during his absence is essential. Ultimately, he is looking for a kind, articulate, and well-informed individual who prioritizes open communication and fosters a positive and enriching experience for his son while maintaining an organized schedule and household. A candidate who speaks a second language would be a huge bonus, but is not required.

Job Synopsis: This position is for a dedicated and nurturing individual who will provide comprehensive childcare and household support for his delightful 3-year-old. This role encompasses engaging in stimulating play and developmental activities, maintaining organized play spaces, assisting with meal preparation, and managing the child’s laundry and seasonal wardrobe changes. This position also requires organizing the father’s schedule, running errands, keeping the home stocked and organized, and driving the child to different activities. The schedule for this position will alternate between Monday through Friday, 6 am – 2 pm, and Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4 pm, depending on the weeks that he has his son. Flexibility to work two Saturdays a month in exchange for a weekday off would be appreciated. This will be a guarantee of 40 hours per week at $45+/hr with paid vacation, holidays, and sick days. A vehicle will be provided while working.

Vaccination Requirements: This family is requesting a nanny who is COVID vaccinated.

Qualifications:

Five years of professional nanny/family assistant experience

CPR/first aid certification
