Family in Cow Hollow Seeks Nanny/Family Assistant (1 FT Person or 2 PT People)

Start: August 25th (hire by August 1st)

A family in Cow Hollow is seeking one or two highly organized Nanny / Family Assistant(s) to help with childcare for two kids (ages 7 and 10 years old) and household management. Morning tasks include preparing the children breakfast, getting them ready for school and dropping them off, running errands, light tidying, laundry, and meal prep. In the afternoon responsibilities entail managing the children’s busy schedules, school pick up and driving to extracurriculars, overseeing homework, and helping with the evening routine. Flexibility and willingness to provide occasional overnights (2-3 times per year) is appreciated.

Schedule:
The family is open to hiring one FT Family Assistant or two part-time people to split the morning and afternoon.

• Option 1: Full-time Family Assistant to work Monday-Friday 6:30/7 AM to 5:30 PM (52.5 – 55 hours per week guaranteed)
• Option 2: Part-Time Morning Family Assistant to work Monday-Friday 6:30/7 AM to 11 AM (20 – 22.5 hours per week guaranteed)
• Option 3: Part-Time Afternoon Nanny to work Monday-Friday 2 PM to 6 PM (20 hours per week guaranteed)
• Note – the family has some flexibility to shift the hours/schedule but the critical core hours needed are the mornings (6:30/7a for drop off, and 2p-6p for afterschool care)

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny / family assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English

Qualifications

• TB and Tdap vaccinated
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household vehicle for work-related driving)
• Highly organized and excels at managing busy schedules
• Discrete and trustworthy
• Kind, warm and engaging
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility and willingness to help with overnights (2-3 times per year)
• Can make at least a year commitment, ideally longer

Responsibilities

• Morning FA tasks
  • Preparing the children breakfast
  • Overseeing homework that needs to get finished
  • Drop-off at school
  • Running errands (grocery shopping, dry cleaning, returning packages, etc.)
  • Preparing sports equipment/uniforms for after school activities
  • Laundry
  • Light tidying and organization (children’s bedrooms, play areas, common spaces)
  • Meal prep for the family; preparing kids’ lunches and snacks
  • Occasionally interfacing with vendors coming to the home

• Afternoon Childcare tasks
  • Making sure sports equipment/uniforms are ready for after-school activities
  • Handling the logistics of the children’s schedules
