  • Location: Mill Valley, California
  • Ages of children: 2 months
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, rotational schedule of 1 week on/1 week off or 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off. The family is flexible to discuss the ideal rotation length with their nanny team. Candidates can expect to work between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm on typical days. The family will communicate about specific weekly hours in advance. Flexibility for evenings, travel, and occasional overnight shifts during the rotation will be key.
  • Compensation: The family is offering an hourly and overtime rate equivalent to an annualized base compensation of $140-160k/year, dependent on candidate experience. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. Candidates need to live within a commutable distance of the family's home or be willing to relocate to the Bay Area.

Household dynamic:

  • This hard-working, fun-loving and adventurous Bay Area family is over the moon to be raising their first, a son, and watching him grow! At just 2 months old, their little one is already showing signs of curiosity. He is sweet, loves gazing at the ceiling, and seems keenly aware of the world around him. He is a happy baby who adores his very friendly fur brother, a labrador who is also a beloved member of the family. Their son is currently cared for by a newborn care specialist, and the family is looking forward to a smooth transition as they welcome a full-time rotational nanny/family assistant into their home.
  • This is a dual-career household where both parents are dedicated to their professional lives while also navigating their exciting new chapter as parents. Mom is currently on maternity leave and plans to return to work in the near future. This is an active, outdoorsy, and busy family who enjoys hiking, reading in their backyard, and exploring broader California and around the globe. They own a beach cottage just an hour away from their main residence and travel throughout the year, including visits to extended family in California, Massachusetts, and Colorado. Due to the family’s work schedule, trips are usually less than a week. Later this month, the family of 3, along with the newborn care specialist, will travel to DC, Brazil, and Massachusetts for a mix of work, weddings, and family visits.
  • Their household is also supported by a personal assistant/house manager and housekeeping twice a week.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an experienced and nurturing rotational nanny/family assistant who is genuinely dedicated to caring for a sweet, growing infant! The family is seeking a candidate who can enrich their son’s daily routine with thoughtful and developmentally age-appropriate activities such as reading, outdoor exploration, crafts, and age-appropriate songs. Someone who delights in those little moments and brings intention, warmth, and calmness to his early days. The family hopes to find someone who offers a parent-like care that is intuitive and attentive to the needs of their baby. A professional rotational nanny/family assistant who keeps respectful boundaries will be highly appreciated. The family hopes to work with someone who can jump in and support the family's rhythm and dynamic schedule–a true partner who is self-directed and highly confident, yet collaborative, will be a perfect fit. Truly loving being with children and finding joy in supporting the family in the years to come are important for success.
  • Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, child’s appointments, and traveling with the family throughout the year. While the family does have a house manager and regular house-cleaning, they are looking for someone who can pitch in and help out when the time arises! Family assisting duties hopefully include helping out with the dog, occasional errands, light meal planning, and preparation. It is important that the candidate is excited to explore and travel extensively domestically and internationally with the family. The family is seeking a candidate with experience with multiple kids and with a desire to grow with the family.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks a second language, and/or is comfortable preparing meals for the entire family.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional childcare experience
  • Live within, or relocate to, a commutable distance of Mill Valley
  • Experience caring for multiple kids and a desire to grow with the family
  • Ability to live-out while on and off-duty
  • Family assisting experience
  • Travel nanny experience
  • Able to swim and care for children in water
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport
  • Dog friendly
