A warm and active family is seeking a highly experienced and reliable nanny to support them in caring for their 1-year-old son and their newborn arriving in April, and become an extension of their family!

Soon to become an older brother, their 1-year-old is very active and full of curiosity. A ray of sunshine, he’s got a smile on his face all day, and while he can be a bit shy with new faces, he is very bubbly and outgoing once he warms up. True to his endless energy, he loves spending time outside, trying out new activities, or crawling around, but he also enjoys his nap time twice a day. He’s working on his milestones, and Mom and Dad are expecting him to start eating more solid foods once his little teeth start showing. They would appreciate someone well-versed in food training & milestone development. 

This welcoming family is over the moon about their baby arriving next year, and the home is getting ready for this new season as a crew of four. Mom and Dad, two dedicated business owners, describe their parenting style as positive and intuitive, blended with a gentle and conscious approach. After having nannies in the past, they are hoping to find a match that feels inevitable, a caregiver who would bring a great deal of relevant experience, extensive childcare knowledge, strong organizational skills, and a dependable, well-rounded personality. The nanny will be proactive, with a “see a need, fill a need” type of mindset, and able to anticipate needs and naturally take the lead with the children as well as round the home. The ideal candidate will also be professional and respectful of the parents’ beliefs and values, and will avoid political or controversial talks while in their home. Someone flexible to stay longer or add in days if needed, who naturally loves children and deeply cares for their wellbeing and development.

In this exciting role, the nanny will primarily focus on caring for the oldest child until the newborn’s arrival, after which care will extend to both children. The duties will include preparing bottles, washing/sterilizing them and breast pumps, safely handling, preparing and storing breastmilk, feeding and preparing simple meals and snacks, changing diapers, putting the children to bed for naps, and providing sick care, if needed. Additional duties encompass planning fun educational age-appropriate activities for the children, tidying up their common areas, laundering their clothes & linens, possibly driving the kids to activities, and emptying the diaper pail and restocking the diaper bag. They will also be responsible for general home tidying/organizing (not housekeeping), feeding their dogs, and running errands on occasion, and texting photos and updates throughout the day.

Qualifications 

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• A background in Early Childhood Education is preferred
• High school diploma
• At least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Clean driving record
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Current on standard vaccinations
• Flexibility to accommodate extra hours or come on short weekend trips, if needed
• Pet friendly

Schedule

Part-time, guaranteeing 33 hours per week. The general schedule will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Flexibility will be appreciated to potentially come in on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and accommodate occasional date nights, if needed.

Compensation

The family is offering $25-$32/hour based upon 33 guaranteed hours per week, which equates to up to $825-$1,056/week, and an anticipated annual base income of $42k+-$54k+/year. This position is paid legally, on a W-2, subject to regular deductions and withholdings as required by law. 

Benefits

The family is offering 3 days of paid sick time, 5 days of paid time off, paid major holidays, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate for on-the-job travel.
