ACTIVE + ORGANIZED SPECIAL NEEDS NANNY/ HOUSEHOLD MANAGER NEEDED FOR FAMILY IN BALTIMORE, MARYLAND

Pink Nannies - Baltimore, MD
Part-time
Salary: $40.00 - $50.00 Hourly
Application Deadline: Oct 31, 2025
House Manager

A welcoming and well-supported family is seeking a special needs nanny/household manager to join them in caring for their 5-year-old son, while also helping keep the home clean and tidy. The nanny should be knowledgeable and experienced in supporting children on the autism spectrum with patience.

Their son is a vibrant and energetic 5-year-old. He is on the autism spectrum and non-speaking, but has emerging communication skills and will thrive with a caregiver who understands his world. He’s curious and enjoys sensory-rich activities, riding his scooter, playing, listening to music, reading, and joining the family on errands and drives (bonus points if you can make Target trips extra fun!). He is independent and sometimes very determined. The family is working with him on skills such as potty training, using utensils, and following daily routines. He also receives in-home speech, occupational, and physical therapy sessions during the week, horse therapy on weekends, and receives support at school. The ideal nanny will join this warm and welcoming family as a true partner, supporting and reinforcing his ongoing learning, encouraging skill-building, and engaging in active, hands-on play while respecting his independence. This role is perfect for someone experienced with children on the autism spectrum and comfortable collaborating with the family.

These two nurturing and caring parents work as a team, always keeping their son as their top priority. They purposefully strive to create an environment where he can thrive. Leading with kindness and curiosity, they base their parenting style on love and intentionality, and aim to communicate clearly as well as acknowledge and talk about their emotions. Mom and Dad have flexible work schedules, with Mom working from home in a separate office space a few times a week and Dad’s schedule changing weekly.

As an animal-loving family, they enjoy taking their little one to equine therapy on the weekends. Dad and son enjoy spending time together on the go, whether it’s running errands, visiting parks, picking up pastries, or stopping by the butcher. As a family, they stay active, playing outdoors and making the most of their backyard. They also enjoy traveling once or twice a year and are open to the possibility of the nanny joining them on domestic trips.

The family is looking for a truly experienced nanny who specializes in supporting children with special needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Their ideal candidate is intuitive, highly organized, and able to seamlessly join their team, supporting their son’s growth while maintaining a sense of order and structure in the home. They value someone who encourages independence, whether through age-appropriate household tasks or helping their son take on new responsibilities. They are looking for someone who genuinely cares for their son, taking the time to understand him, and meet him where he is with patience, warmth, and compassion, while gently guiding him, setting clear boundaries, and keeping a consistent routine. The ideal candidate will be active, creative, and an effective communicator, showing up with a kind and proactive attitude.

In this role, the candidate will be primarily responsible for childcare duties (80%) with other minor household duties (20%). This individual will partner with the family and team of specialists in supporting their child’s development and reinforcing his growth and development. The nanny will safely drive their child, picking him up from school, to and from appointments, take him swimming, and occasionally run errands together; plan fun educational age-appropriate activities, arrange play dates, empty the diaper pail, and restock the diaper bag. They will also tidy up the child’s common areas, launder his clothes & linens, and text photos/updates throughout the day. Additional duties include general home organization, meal preparation, doing the child’s laundry, feeding the pets, and letting them out to use the bathroom.
