A warm, low-key family of four in Raleigh is seeking a dependable, kind, and confident part-time nanny to care for their two young children and support their home with light household tasks. They have an almost 4-year-old who is a music and book lover with big feelings in a small package. To round out the group, their 1-year-old is all about cars and cuddles and almost walking.  The family values calm energy, clear communication, and someone who feels comfortable taking initiative while respecting their routines. Their parenting approach blends gentle discipline with firm boundaries, and they’re looking for a nanny who aligns with this respectful, developmentally appropriate style.

Their ideal caregiver is: 

• Warm, calm, and grounded, but also playful and engaging
  
  
• Comfortable with toddler behavior challenges like sibling conflict and limit testing
  
  
• Gentle yet confident with redirection and boundary setting (they use a printed sheet of Dr. Becky strategies and would love someone familiar or open to learning)
  
  
• Proactive and tidy, understanding that part of caring for children includes resetting the home environment after play or meals
  
  
• Comfortable recognizing mild asthma symptoms like wheezing (both children have asthma; both receive inhalers at night)
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Engage with children in play, music, and imagination
  
  
• Support emotional development and sibling dynamics through gentle redirection
  
  
• Maintain clean play and dining areas (reset toys/art supplies, wipe counters, sweep under chairs)
  
  
• Prepare simple meals for the children
  
  
• Child-related laundry (washing, folding, and putting away)
  
  
• Optional household tasks on extra day (e.g., meal prep, vacuuming, general tidying)

Benefits & Schedule:

• Guaranteed hours
• Up to 20 hours /week for the right fit who is willing to assist with household management (laundry, vacuuming, light food prep). These hours would take place on Thursday or Friday, based on the candidates' availability.

• Requirements:

• Strong toddler experience (ideally with both 3–4 year olds and younger toddlers)
• Open to feedback and helping keep the home tidy
• No driving required during shifts, but must have reliable transportation to/from work
• Flu vaccine annually
• COVID vaccination preferred but not required
• Must not come to work sick. This is critical due to children’s asthma concerns.
