A busy household in San Francisco is seeking a seasoned nanny / personal assistant to help with childcare and personal tasks for the parents. Their children are 10-14 years old. Childcare tasks include picking the kids up from school and driving them to various activities and play dates, planning and engaging with them in fun activities, helping with homework, preparing their meals and snacks, light tidying and organizing, and helping them stay accountable. PA tasks include running errands, purchasing and stocking personal items, making reservations, researching and booking vendors/venues, event planning, etc.

The best person for them is extremely organized, unflappable, and genuinely enjoys working with adolescents. Someone engaging and professional with excellent communication skills will be the best fit.

Experience Requirements

  • 3 years minimum experience working in a private household as a nanny
  • Must have previous PA experience

Educational Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in Spanish (nice to have)

Qualifications

  • CPR Certified
  • Valid driver with clean record (household vehicle provided for work-related driving)
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to changes in the schedule (weekend available 2x a month is needed)
  • Genuinely loves working with adolescent children
  • Loving but firm and can hold boundaries
  • Excellent communication
  • Highly organized
  • Can make a long term commitment

Responsibilities

Childcare tasks:

  • Support the children; focusing on their adolescent development
  • Picking up from school
  • Driving to activities, play dates, carpooling
  • Homework help
  • Planning and engaging in fun age-appropriate activities
  • Preparing kids’ dinner and snacks
  • Organizing children’s clothing, purchasing items as needed
  • Light tidying and guide kids to keep themselves organized

PA tasks:

  • Purchasing items
  • Researching / finding venues and vendors
  • Making reservations
  • Event planning
  • Making returns
  • Running errands
  • Feeding the cat as needed
  • Ad hoc tasks
