Description:

A nurturing, structured family in Canton, Ohio, is looking for a long-term, organized career nanny familiar with the Montessori philosophy to help care for their bright 4-month-old son and grow with the family.

Their 4-month-old is intelligent and observant and thrives in a structured and mentally stimulating environment. He’s currently bottle-fed with breastmilk and doing wonderfully. Mom and Dad plan to begin introducing solids once he turns six months. They speak to him thoughtfully, like an adult, without using baby talk. He enjoys reading time, and he can’t get enough of “Llama, Llama, Red Pajama”, his favorite book at the moment.

Mom and Dad lead their family with a team-based mindset and a nurturing, structured approach that complements each other’s strengths. Their parenting style is rooted in the Montessori principles of clear routines and boundaries, paired with patience and gentleness. They describe their parenting style as authoritative, setting clear boundaries with warmth and love. Open communication is central in their home, and they focus on guiding their son toward positive behavior rather than simply saying “no.” Their goal is to help him build real-life skills and grow into a confident, independent child. In their free time, this affectionate family loves spending time together and visiting friends. They stay active by going on walks together, and they also enjoy traveling.

The ideal nanny will be organized, professional, and neat by nature, with an eye for cleanliness and tidiness, capable of sticking to routines. They should also have a firm yet gentle approach to ensure boundaries and rules are respected and followed. Experience with the Montessori philosophy will be greatly valued, and the nanny will be expected to guide their son based on its principles. They want a caregiver who approaches their role with confidence, kindness, and emotional awareness. Someone creative, capable of coming up with developmentally stimulating activities for their son, while keeping him away from screens. The family hopes to find a nanny who’s a great communicator and who is able to provide clear, concise updates on their son’s day and progress. Reliable and willing to commit to the long run, the perfect match will be consistent, safety-conscious, and also comfortable with sticking to the family’s house manual.

In this role, responsibilities will include all aspects of childcare, including preparing fun, educational, age-appropriate activities, engaging in active play with him, and reading to him, and, once age-appropriate, potentially driving their son to and from activities or outings. The nanny will also provide sick care if needed, prepare simple healthy meals/snacks and bottles, and clean and load the dishwasher afterward. Additional tasks will include sterilizing bottles and breast pumps, safely handling, preparing, and storing breastmilk, and general tidying and organizing of the home, especially children’s common areas. Lastly, the nanny will at all times follow and respect the rules outlined in the house manual that will be provided by the family.
