Inside Their World:
An active, attentive family is looking for a knowledgeable nanny to care for their 3-year-old daughter, and a baby boy born in July.
Their 3-year-old daughter is a curious, imaginative, and energetic little girl. This bright little girl attends a Montessori school during the week, loves reading with Mom and Dad, and can get through as many as 10 books in one day! She enjoys playing outside and engaging in activities including tag, swinging in the backyard, and feeding the birds. She is eager to help in the kitchen, and her bright, imaginative personality constantly cracks her family up! Her strong-willed nature thrives when her questions are met with thoughtful explanations, satisfying her desire to understand the world. As an animal lover, she is best friends with their gentle giant dog, a 4-year-old black lab mix, who’s well-behaved and completely housebroken.
She’s thrilled to have become a big sister to a wonderful baby brother, and the home is filled with joy! Mom and Dad are over the moon with their recent arrival. Because breastfeeding is very important to them, they’re looking for a nanny who has experience in this area and is comfortable following a structured feeding schedule. When it comes to naps and sleep, the ideal nanny will provide calm, attentive care, gently soothing the baby when he cries, as the family does not practice sleep training methods.
This welcoming and open-minded family is very health-conscious and follows attachment parenting and Montessori philosophies. They strive to provide their daughter with the freedom to explore and make autonomous decisions without pressure. While these two loving parents are busy attorneys, they prefer to slow down their pace and prioritize their family’s well-being at all times. They are also very intentional about every aspect of their kids’ lives, hence, they value outdoor play time together, away from screens, along with natural, healthy, whole meals and snacks, avoiding processed foods at all times. They prefer using "gentle" parenting techniques with a focus on building emotional health over simply gaining compliance. As a family, they are always on the go and staying active. They love spending time in the woods and playground, riding their bikes to the neighborhood pool, visiting the zoo and aquarium, occasionally watching a family movie, and finding new parks to explore!
The ideal candidate for this affectionate family is a loving, patient, and compassionate nanny who genuinely cares about supporting children through their growth and development. They should be confident in making informed decisions, while also being respectful and open to following Mom’s guidance. The family is looking for someone energetic and adventurous, someone who will joyfully engage the toddler in active play when not caring for the newborn, and who naturally enjoys spending time outdoors. A nanny who nurtures curiosity through play and exploration will thrive here. This family would especially value someone who brings their own spark of joy, whether through painting, playing an instrument, cooking, or a love for crafts.
In this role, responsibilities will include all aspects of childcare, including preparing fun, educational, age-appropriate activities (with a special focus on reading time) and daily or weekly outings, coordinating play dates with friends, and safely driving children to and from activities. The nanny will also provide sick care if needed, prepare simple healthy meals/snacks and bottles, and clean and load the dishwasher afterward. Additional tasks will include sterilizing bottles and breast pumps, safely handling, preparing, and storing breastmilk, and general tidying and organizing of the home, especially children’s common areas.
