Inside Their World: A Potomac, MD, family is seeking a proactive and adaptable nanny/household manager to care for their daughter and manage the home. Their sweet baby girl is almost five months old. She is happy, healthy, and thriving. She currently enjoys both formula and breast milk.

Family Environment:

Mom and Dad are busy executives who travel frequently, both domestically and internationally. They value calm, respectful communication and appreciate people who move through the world with intention and steadiness. Their parenting style is flexible and rooted in love, with a clear focus on consistency, healthy boundaries, and a nurturing environment built on mutual respect. The family has four gentle and loving dogs: two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, a Rottweiler, and a Boxer; therefore, being comfortable around pets and with pet care is essential. As a family, they enjoy cultural experiences, travel, the opera, fitness, and meals together. Mom and Dad naturally connect with individuals who are grounded, thoughtful, and emotionally aware.

Who Thrives Here:

The family is seeking a caregiver who is much more than a match on paper, someone who feels like a trusted extension of their home. They value calm under pressure, natural organization, and a proactive spirit that brings ease rather than added effort. Warmth, patience, and a grounded, low drama presence are essential qualities in their next hire.

The ideal candidate understands the rhythm of a family environment, knowing when to step in and when to allow space, and feels at home in a setting built on trust and clear communication. Confidence, capability, and adaptability are key, along with the ability to take initiative, make sound decisions, and manage day-to-day routines with quiet independence.

A can-do attitude and genuine willingness to support the home, wherever needed, from family laundry to pet care, will be deeply valued. The family appreciates someone who brings a thoughtful, problem-solving mindset, balanced with discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence. Spanish fluency is highly valuable, and flexibility for occasional travel related to work is preferred.

Daily Rhythm:

In this dynamic role, you will provide attentive, loving care in a safe and nurturing environment while keeping the household organized and running smoothly. Core responsibilities include daytime care, supporting healthy sleep routines, following the baby’s established schedule, preparing bottles, and safely handling and storing breast milk. You’ll ensure the baby is comfortable, clean, and well-dressed each day, and that the nursery remains stocked and orderly. Beyond daily care, you’ll plan age-appropriate outings and playdates, transport the baby to activities, and contribute to the overall flow of the home through thoughtful household management. This includes maintaining shared spaces, coordinating vendors, running errands, caring for the family pet, managing laundry, ironing sheets, and helping to create a calm, well-supported environment where the family can truly thrive.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional childcare experience
  • Extensive experience working with newborns and infants
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable and insured vehicle
  • Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
  • Pet-friendly and willing to assist in all aspects of pet care
  • Current on standard vaccinations (including COVID-19)
