Inside Their World:

A welcoming Ohio family is seeking a proactive and well-rounded nanny/household manager to support them in caring for their children, keeping their home organized, and providing pet care.

Their 8-year-old son is warm-hearted and very active. He enjoys independent, quiet activities like playing with Transformers and Legos, exploring science projects, and spending time on his tablet. He is also very affectionate and loves to give hugs. He is an energetic boy with managed ADHD. Their 5-year-old daughter is confident, expressive, and not afraid to share her thoughts. She’s also energetic, kind, and has big feelings, which she’s learning to express. Highly creative, she loves all sorts of imaginative play, dancing, singing, cooking, and playing with friends. Both children participate in after-school activities, with the oldest taking piano lessons and the youngest enrolled in dance and gymnastics.

Family Environment: Mom and Dad lead their family with a thoughtful balance of structure and ease, making time for both engaging play and academic focus. They encourage responsibility and independence while also prioritizing age-appropriate fun and relaxed activities. The family values clear communication, avoids baby talk, and maintains consistent routines. They enjoy spending quality time together through engaging activities like movie nights, library visits, playing hide and seek, building with Legos, and the occasional Nerf gun battle around the house. They also enjoy outdoor activities like jumping on their trampoline and going on trips each year. They are appreciative, open-minded parents who encourage an active, organized, and fun family life. Mom works from home part of the time, so this role is best suited for a candidate who is comfortable working in a collaborative yet independent environment with the ability to redirect children.

Who Thrives Here:

Ideal for a creative, energetic, and well-rounded individual who enjoys actively engaging with the kids, and fosters a balance between all sorts of fun games and outings, and educational activities, like spelling practice and science projects. Approachable and kind, they proactively take ownership of their work,  complete tasks independently, and express strong judgment. This individual creates a safe environment to allow the children to grow in autonomy, have fun while learning, and respect one another. Someone patient, gentle yet firm to ensure routines are kept and redirect behaviour, and enforce boundaries. Someone able to match each kid’s energy levels, adapt accordingly, intuitively suggesting quieter activities when a break is needed, and intentionally spending time with each kid equally. They are also comfortable driving the kids and taking them on fun outings nearby. The ideal candidate will be flexible, as the family plans to enroll the children in summer camp and may adjust scheduling needs to include some weekend hours.

Daily Rhythm:

You will provide attentive, engaging care for school-age children, supporting their routines and needs. Responsibilities include safely driving the kids to and from activities, supporting their academic development, planning fun, educational, age-appropriate activities, and outings. As for the household manager side of the role, tasks involve general tidying/organizing of the home, preparing meals and snacks for the children, doing laundry, and general pet care, such as letting the dogs out, and ensuring they are fed and hydrated.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Family assistant or household management experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable and insured vehicle
  • Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
  • Pet-friendly & comfortable, providing pet care. The family has a Great Dane, a Golden Doodle, and a cat.
