  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week, with the general schedule falling Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm. (Requested hours may change.) Additional hours will be requested when traveling with the family, or for date nights and the like.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $45-50/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $94-104k/year, dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. A housing stipend may be available for a candidate who would be relocating.

Household dynamic:

  • A low-key family is seeking a nanny/family assistant to support their vibrant household and care for their two young children. Their 3-year-old daughter is bright, verbally advanced, and has a big, fun personality. She is an energetic and curious toddler who enjoys playgroups, music classes, and museum visits. Their youngest, an adorable 5-month-old baby, is beginning to explore and engage with the world around her. The family is eager to find someone who will nurture both children through fun and developmentally appropriate activities.
  • The family splits their time between their home in California and their second home in New York City. Their work takes them around the world, with frequent visits to New York and extended trips lasting up to 1-2 months at a time. This is an outdoor-loving family that loves hiking, traveling to far-flung places, rock climbing, going to the theater, and recharging at home. Currently, they are supported by a full-time nanny who will be transitioning out of the role in February. They are seeking a candidate who can confidently step into the rhythm of their home and be a steady presence at home and on the road.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone who is engaged, present, and genuinely excited to care for two children. The family is seeking a proactive nanny/family assistant who can step in naturally to support both the children and the household. They value someone who is fun and upbeat, who can connect deeply with the children and match their curiosity. Their toddler has an extensive vocabulary and would benefit from a well-spoken caregiver who can nurture language development through rich conversation, age-appropriate learning, and a love of reading.
  • The right candidate is experienced and confident caring for two children and physically able to keep up with them, including carrying the children or lifting a stroller. They should be comfortable creating full days of engaging, hands-on activities that don’t rely on technology. A consistent, supportive presence—especially during the mornings, when both parents are most productive—will be key.
  • Travel is a regular part of the family’s rhythm, so adaptability and comfort joining extended family trips is important. The parents enjoy working with collaborative, attuned candidates who can assist with family tasks and help maintain an organized home. They are ultimately hoping to find someone who is open to growing with their family for years to come.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, supporting daily schedules and routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family-assisting duties include running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
  • While not required for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who is local to the Bay Area and speaks a second language (Spanish or French). The family would love to expose their children to both languages and enrich their learning experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants
  • Experience caring for 2 children in a role
  • Travel Experience
  • Willingness for long-term travel (1-2 months)
  • Willingness and comfort with family assistant duties
  • Physically capable of carrying an infant/toddler and lifting a stroller
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
