  • Location: San Gabriel Valley, California, and the Northeast
  • Ages of children: Newborn
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The family may ask to stay later or start earlier depending on travel schedule and the family’s schedule.
  • Compensation: The family is offering an hourly and overtime rate equivalent to an annualized base compensation of $130,000–$150,000/year dependent on candidate experience. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family will provide benefits, including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out while in California. Housing is provided in other locations.

Household dynamic:

  • This bicoastal, loving family is seeking a nanny to care for and nurture their newborn. The family is warm, hands-on, and easy to work with, and they deeply value discretion, flexibility, and a calm, confident presence in their home. Their daughter is independent, loving, and warm, and both parents feel incredibly lucky to have her!  The nanny will join the family to support all aspects of infant care and support her day-to-day and developmental milestones. The family shares their home with a cat and a dog, and hopes to have goats and a horse stable.
  • Both parents are gentle and playful with their daughter and very involved in her life. As a family-oriented home, Mom has stepped back from work for now to be the pillar at home while their newborn is so young. The family is always grounded in connection and time together, and both parents are collaborating on their work schedules to ensure that at least one parent will always be present alongside the nanny and baby while the other parent may be working from travel. Splitting time between southern CA and the Catskills, the family spends winters in California and late spring through early autumn in the mountains, where their life slows down - quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by animals and nature. They are hoping to eventually spend more time in their home in the Catskills, putting down roots and enrolling their daughter in school nearby. Clarity, transparency, and emotional steadiness are important in this home. Mom runs on direct communication and clear expectations - she wants to be there for their nanny and wants the same in return. The family is excited to find someone ready to join their family, reflect their warmth, and become a part of their team.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone experienced, easygoing, emotionally intelligent, and down-to-earth, with strong communication skills and a genuine love for what they do. The ideal candidate is warm, confident, and highly self-sufficient - able to care for themselves well so they can show up fully for the child and family. They bring a calm, steady presence to the home and thrive in a role where they can anticipate needs, take initiative, and offer support without requiring constant direction. A proactive candidate with a see-the-need, fill-the-need approach is deeply appreciated while being able to easily navigate the family’s household rhythm in a supportive and grounded way. The family would love to work with someone whose calm confidence helps them slow down and be present and engaged.
  • The family is looking for someone supportive and collaborative with hands-on parents, understands, and knows how to step in and step out seamlessly. A high-level professional nanny who can travel with ease and bring adaptability to those transitions will be an excellent fit. Someone who can be a steady, supportive presence while traveling will be highly valued. The family is hoping to work with a candidate whom they can completely trust and who brings grounded, warm care as their daughter grows.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, keeping daily logs, organizing children’s areas, handling baby laundry, occasional errands, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.

Qualifications:

  • 7 years of recent full-time nanny experience, including extensive infant experience
  • Excellent references and verifiable long-term placements
  • Experience traveling with families
  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods (domestic and international)
  • Strong swimmer (family has a pool and lake property)
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Animal friendly
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
