- Monday–Thursday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Flexibility: Occasionally the nanny may be asked to stay later for evening coverage. Some hours may end early if not needed, but all scheduled hours are guaranteed
Compensation: $20–$28/hour (DOE)

About the Position & Family:
Hello Nanny! is partnering with a warm, welcoming family in New Orleans, LA, seeking an energetic and attentive temporary nanny for their 5-year-old daughter. The family values a caregiver who can engage their child through art, culture, nature, and educational play while maintaining a calm, structured, and screen-free home environment.
The ideal candidate is empathetic, organized, and adaptable, able to create a balanced daily routine that respects the household’s rhythms. Bilingual French/English skills are a plus to support language development.
This is a temporary full-time nanny position ideally starting January 31, 2026, with a 6-week contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare & Child Development
- Provide full-time, in-home childcare that is nurturing, reliable, and developmentally appropriate
- Support the child’s emotional, social, and behavioral development using calm, respectful guidance
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities including art projects, educational play, reading, and outdoor exploration
- Maintain a screen-free childcare environment aligned with the family’s values
- Assist with daily childcare routines including meals, hygiene, transitions, and bedtime preparation
- Perform school pick-up and transportation to playgrounds, library visits, and local children’s activities
- Ensure the child’s safety at all times, maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding the child’s daily activities, routines, progress, and needs
Household Support
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child
- Complete light housekeeping duties related to childcare, including tidying play areas and children’s spaces
- Handle child-related laundry and organization
- Help with basic family errands as needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming common areas used by the child
Ideal Candidate:
- Energetic, nurturing, and empathetic, with a positive and professional demeanor
- Organized, flexible, and adaptable to changing routines
- Experienced with full-time childcare for preschool-aged children
- Confident managing boundaries and behavior without yelling or belittling
- Comfortable in a screen-free, calm, and structured home environment
- Reliable personal vehicle with valid insurance
- Bilingual in French and English – a big plus, especially for language development and cultural engagement
- Open to using play-based and educational approaches
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and collaborative with parents
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of recent childcare experience, including at least 1 year as a professional nanny or caregiver in a private home
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle with valid insurance (IRS mileage reimbursement offered)
- CPR & First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
- Minimum age: 21 years old
- Fluent in English; French language skills are a big plus
- Non-smoker
- Up-to-date TB and Tdap vaccinations
- Legal U.S. citizen or holder of valid work authorization/visa documentation
- Ability to take and pass an extensive criminal and background check
- Available to start as soon as possible for a 6-week temporary contract
- Must be local to New Orleans, LA or surrounding areas
