This loving, close-knit family in Erie, Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced overnight newborn care specialist with a gentle, steady approach to support them through the birth of their third child.

• Location: Erie, Pennsylvania
• Ages of children: 7 and almost 3 years old, and a newborn due on August 15, 2026
• Contract dates: 3-6 months
• Schedule: 12-hour overnight care (likely 7pm - 7am or similar) 7 days per week
• Compensation: The family is offering W-2 employment paid at an hourly rate of $40-50/hour for 12 hours nightly of overnight care, which equates to a weekly compensation of $3,360-$4,200 dependent on candidate experience and the agreed-upon schedule and contract length.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. A private room will be provided for the candidate to live-in for the duration of the contract.

• This playful, close-knit family in Pennsylvania is preparing to welcome their third child and is seeking a newborn care specialist to help them navigate this exciting new chapter. The newborn care specialist will focus on providing consistent, supportive overnight care for the newborn while collaborating with Mom, who plans to breastfeed. They also have two children, ages 7 and 3, who are in school full-time and supported by their day nanny. The family also shares their home with a cat.
• This household maintains a loving and easy-going dynamic. Both parents are full-time physicians working in a busy practice. While Mom will be on parental leave for the first few months, they value a supportive candidate who can be a steady, calming presence at home and support the family through nighttime transitions. The family speaks Urdu at home, is practicing Muslims, and places a high value on privacy and respect.

• This position is ideal for a punctual, reliable, and trustworthy newborn care specialist who has a nurturing energy and a genuine commitment to caring for newborns as if they were their own. The family is seeking a mature, grounded, and experienced candidate who works confidently, handles all situations with ease and discretion, and is comfortable offering expert guidance around the baby’s development and supporting Mom during the postpartum period. Privacy is important for the family! Someone who values professionalism and privacy will be an excellent fit. The family hopes to work with someone who brings a gentle, adaptable, go-with-the-flow approach to their care and is open to collaborating with mom and being a knowledgeable resource throughout this special season of their family’s life.
• Responsibilities include creating a nurturing and safe environment for the newborn to thrive, as well as other child-related tasks, including prepping and sanitizing bottles, the baby’s laundry, tidying the nursery, and generally bringing a supportive, all-hands-on-deck, collaborative attitude to each day.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of relevant professional experience (as a newborn care specialist, night nanny, doula, or nanny)
• Experience working as a newborn care specialist and/or doula with at least 5 families
• Knowledge of every aspect of newborn care, including professional and working knowledge of feeding, bathing, and dressing infants, and preparing, cleaning, and sanitizing bottles
• Experience and knowledge surrounding sleep conditioning, establishing routines, feeding routines, and developmental milestones
• Newborn care specialist training, preferably through Newborn Care Solutions or another CACHE-accredited program
• Live-in experience
• Up-to-date on standard vaccinations (T-dap, flu, etc.)
• Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
