Inside Their World:

Nurturing first-time parents in Virginia seek a reliable, infant-experienced nanny for their son, born at 28 weeks and now 4 months old (10 weeks adjusted), thriving and meeting milestones. The position is guaranteed available through October 1, 2026 (a total of six months), with the strong potential for long-term, following a successful trial period. The family is ideally seeking someone they can grow with.

He is a very expressive, vocal, and social baby who loves to be held and rocked. He is growing steadily, hitting all his developmental milestones. Mom is currently pumping, and they’re fortifying breastmilk to support his growth. He has a lactose and soy allergy, so the nanny will be mindful of his dietary needs.

Family Environment:

Mom and Dad are two busy lawyers and thoughtful, affectionate first time parents who lead their home with a gentle parenting philosophy.  Their top priority is responsiveness, and they intentionally seek to create a safe environment where their son can develop a secure attachment style and grow in confidence in his caregivers.  Mom and Dad also value communication, clear structure, and playfulness, paired with creativity and imagination. A nanny who aligns with this approach is essential. She will pick him up if he cries, respond immediately to his needs, and engage in meaningful ways through conversation, reading, and attentive, nurturing interaction. Organized, reliable, and routine-oriented, these parents value open, honest communication and people who are able to read the room and gracefully match their energy. As a family, they enjoy fun outdoor activities like eating out and traveling, as well as quieter ones like binge-watching Netflix shows and playing games.

Who Thrives Here:

The family’s ideal nanny is reliable, extremely punctual, emotionally safe, and professional. Someone knowledgeable and health-conscious, with relevant experience caring for premature babies, and who is diligent about best hygiene practices and takes necessary precautions. They are patient, calm, and exercise strong judgment, communicating effectively, respecting the family’s parenting approach and values, and aligning seamlessly. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for structure and organization, they bring a personality that balances an outgoing attitude with a calm, professional presence. This individual understands the benefits of promptly tending to a baby’s needs and engaging in meaningful interaction to support a safe, healthy development. Warm, cooperative, and well-rounded, they contribute to a home environment that feels consistent, supportive, and thoughtfully cared for.

Daily Rhythm:

In this role, you will focus on providing nurturing and safe childcare to their newborn. You will prepare bottles/meals, safely handle and store breastmilk, clean up after meals, change diapers, provide sick care if needed, and plan fun,  educational, age-appropriate activities. Additional duties will include tidying up the child’s common areas, cleaning up after meals, emptying the diaper pail, loading and unloading the dishwasher, washing pump parts,  texting photos throughout the day, and running errands.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Experience working with premature babies
  • Higher education is preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable and insured vehicle
  • Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
  • Up-to-date with vaccinations (Covid, flu, TDAP, etc.)
  • Demonstrates strong health and safety awareness
