Inside Their World
A loving family in Germantown, MD, is seeking an engaging and patient nanny to care for their 9-month-old and 4-year-old.
Their 4-year-old daughter is vibrant with a big personality. She’s energetic, talkative, observant, and not shy about testing limits as she learns boundaries. She loves to dance and sing and enjoys being expressive throughout the day. She does have a peanut allergy that is carefully monitored by her parents, so attentiveness around food and safety is important. She attends school during the day. Their 9-month-old son is calm and giggly but very active for his age. He is breastfed, follows a nap schedule, and is beginning to transition to table foods. He loves to crawl, pull up, and stay on the move. He loves being held, is very alert, and can be a light sleeper.
This role is well suited for someone who can balance structure and warmth while confidently supporting both a spirited preschooler and an active infant.
Family Environment
Mom and Dad are deeply intentional in the way they parent, prioritizing engagement, connection, and hands-on involvement in their children’s daily lives. They make a conscious effort to understand and support each child’s individual personality, meeting them where they are and encouraging them to grow into their best self. Their parenting style is patient and rooted in gentle guidance. They focus on calm communication, explaining behaviors and consequences rather than reacting harshly. Research and child development principles guide their approach, but at the heart of it all, they want their home and each day to feel fun, connected, and a little magical for their children.
As a family, they value creating their own routines and traditions and place importance on academics, creativity, and staying active. Whether it’s sports, art, or family activities, they aim to keep life engaging and balanced.
Mom and Dad work from home in separate office spaces. Dad is typically home three days a week, and Mom may transition to a hybrid schedule in the future.
Who Thrives Here
This family is looking for a nanny who’s warm, caring, and truly present, who can connect with their children while bringing thoughtfulness to everything they do. Someone who would thrive in this role is patient and able to support the children’s growth while bringing fun and a sense of magic to everyday moments. They hope to find a bubbly, easygoing person who’s also grounded in strong childcare experience and a solid understanding of child development. They’re looking for someone who has experience with families from different backgrounds and who brings an open mind and cultural awareness. Fluency in another language is a plus. After relocating from Pennsylvania, they’re building their village in Germantown and want someone who, over time, feels like part of the family. They value a nanny who can anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and create organized, structured routines. Clear communication, the ability to follow directions, emotional intelligence, and the ability to make independent decisions are essential. They’re looking for someone genuinely invested in their children’s long-term growth who shows up consistently and with intention.
Daily Rhythm
In this role, you’ll prepare meals and snacks, plan menus, and take care of their laundry and play areas. You’ll manage bottles, breast pumps, and diapers, restocking supplies as needed and keeping everything tidy. Your day will include outings, playdates, and activities that keep the kids engaged and happy, as well as trips to the doctor when necessary. You’ll handle grocery shopping and meal prep for the children, and keep parents updated with photos and messages throughout the day.
