French-Speaking Nanny | Upper East Side, NYC

A warm, and loving family on the Upper East Side are seeking a full-time live-out French-speaking career nanny who also is flexible to stay over when needed to care for their sweet 9-year-old boy. The child attends a French-immersion school so a French-speaking candidate is required for this role; must be Standard French dialect. The schedule will require flexibility and the family has an au pair whom the nanny will share schedule responsibilities with, but the general schedule would be approximately Sunday all day and then Monday through Thursday 3:00pm-6:30pm when school is in session. Some days the child is in school until 5pm. The summer plans follow the same time schedule because the child is in camp. The parents take their son to school but on the occasion they are traveling there is the need to stay over to get the child up and to class. The schedule must be flexible and will be coordinated between the family and au pair. The start date will be as soon as a great fit is found.

The child is very smart, active, funny, loves long conversations and sometimes has big emotions. He enjoys gymnastics, bowling, rock climbing, math, science, laughing, and playing in the park with school friends. The candidate should be fun-loving, energetic, affectionate, patient, not a pushover and never get frustrated with children. The child is very good with completing his homework but he will need someone who is capable of sitting with him and offering corrections if needed.

Responsibilities

• Homework oversight
• The family does not ask for the candidate to do any cleaning and food prep for the child will be minimal and mainly just on weekends if needed
• The family does travel often so the candidate to hire must be able to travel when required and have a spirit for adventure with some international travel and time change. They travel to locations such as Rhode Island, the UK, Florida, etc. Summer travels include extended stay abroad with time off

Requirements

• The candidate should be fun-loving, energetic, affectionate, patient, not a pushover and never get frustrated with children
• The candidate to hire must be comfortable working in a fully staffed home and get along exceptionally well with others. Being a team player is vital to maintaining a calm, happy home.
• They have a sweet and gentle dog so the candidate must not have any pet allergies
• Must be abe to work at least 1 weekend day a week and work some holidays as needed
• Must speak French fluently; as there are different French dialects, to be specific they are seeking Standard French

Salary and Benefits

• Compensation for this role starts at $120k++
