Inside Their World:
A nurturing and highly organized family is looking for a lead nanny to partner with them as they raise their 2-year-old and 3.5-month-old daughters. In the beginning, the nanny will focus primarily on the toddler while an 8-week contract co-nanny supports the baby. Over time, the role will transition into caring for both children as the family settles into their long-term rhythm.
Their energetic 2-year-old is an active, imaginative, and easygoing little girl. She loves spending time outside, whether it’s going on walks or visiting new parks, and she’s always ready to play. She also enjoys doing crafts, playing with Play-Doh and beads, and building with Magna Tiles, creating houses and making up stories about them.
Their sweet 3.5-month-old daughter is beginning to roll over and is bottle-fed every three hours. She follows a structured yet flexible routine with cues that guide her day.
Family Environment:
Mom and Dad take a gentle, thoughtful approach to parenting and prioritize guided learning and engaging activities. Their home is structured, organized, and calm, and they are looking for a candidate who shares these values. Both parents work from home, with Dad traveling frequently. Since moving to DC two years ago, life quickly filled up with pregnancy and raising young children, so they are still building their circle and truly value having a nanny as part of their village. They hope to find someone who becomes a trusted and lasting presence in their household. In their free time, they enjoy being outdoors with their daughters, visiting parks, the zoo, museums, and exploring different places around DC.
Who Thrives Here:
This position is best suited for a proactive, creative self-starter who thrives in a dynamic setting and enjoys collaborating with a co-nanny. They are looking for a nanny who has experience with toddlers as well as infants, understands key developmental milestones, and can plan age appropriate activities to support growth and engagement.
This family thrives with a nanny who is deeply hands on, highly interactive, and genuinely passionate about early childhood development. They are looking for someone who is naturally engaged, actively playing, and present throughout the day and keeping both their children appropriately stimulated. They appreciate a nanny who brings fresh ideas, introduces new toys or materials, and genuinely enjoys keeping things stimulating and growth focused.
While loving, attentive care is the foundation, this role also calls for strong structure and organization. The home runs on systems and routines, and they are seeking someone who respects established processes, maintains a tidy and orderly environment, and approaches challenges with calm, thoughtful problem solving. The ideal match takes pride in being extremely reliable and flexible, consistently arriving on time and adapting easily to schedule changes.
Daily Rhythm:
Initially, you will be responsible for providing attentive, nurturing care for their toddler, supporting their routines and development, and gradually transitioning into care for both kids. You will prepare bottles and toddler meals, change diapers, provide sick care if needed, and plan fun, educational, age-appropriate activities. Additional duties include tidying children's areas, diaper bags and strollers, re-stocking baby and toddler supplies, emptying the diaper pail, children’s laundry, loading and unloading the dishwasher, washing bottles, and sharing photos with the parents throughout the day.
Qualifications:
This position is paid legally, on a W-2, subject to regular deductions and withholdings as required by law.
