Inside Their World:

An organized, active family is looking for an adaptable and proactive nanny to support them in primarily caring for their 4-year-old daughter and  2-year-old and 6-month-old sons. They also have two additional children, ages 7, and 5, who are in school for the majority of the day and will be home 10% of the time. The nanny will rarely have all the children at once.

Their 7-year-old is an outgoing and assertive young leader. This energetic first grader enjoys outdoor adventures, playing sports, and getting creative with arts and crafts.  Their 5-year-old son is sweet, thoughtful, and observant. He is in pre-K and also enjoys staying active through outdoor and creative play. Their middle child, a nurturing 4-year-old  girl, is strong-willed and very sociable. She loves playing outside, arts and crafts, and helping mom. She is also enrolled in preschool and attends daycare twice a week along with her 5-year-old brother.

Their youngest children are 2 years old and 6 months old. The older one is a sweet, loving, and independent child. He attends daycare three times a week from 8 am to 4 pm. Their sweet 6-month-old is mama’s boy, and is not currently enrolled in daycare. He’s usually with Mom when she is home and with his grandparents when Mom is working.

Family Environment:

Mom and Dad are both busy physicians who lead their family with love and intention. They prioritize quality family time above all, and maintain a fun and engaging environment for their children. They describe their parenting style as firm yet affectionate. They value structure and maintain a consistent bedtime, while remaining flexible with daily routines and schedules. These loving parents encourage independence from an early age as well. Their children are encouraged to take part in daily responsibilities and contribute meaningfully around the home, helping to prepare meals or set the table for dinner together. Dad works full-time outside of the home, while Mom works part-time and will be home when she is not working in the hospital. She will work from home at times, with virtual meetings and administrative responsibilities. As a family, they enjoy an active and engaged lifestyle, often spending time outdoors, cooking, swimming, and travelling together.

Regarding their evolving schedule needs, the family will provide a new schedule 2-3 months in advance. The general schedule will be Mondays to Thursdays, with hours falling between 7 am and 7 pm, and one weekend per month. Occasional 6 am start time, no more than once per week.

Who Thrives Here:

This role is ideal for a proactive and reliable professional who can confidently adapt to each child’s needs and personality and accommodate evolving and changing schedules. Warm and efficient, they quickly identify needs before they arise, work independently without constant direction, and show up every day on time and with a positive attitude. They take full ownership of their role, follow through consistently, and welcome feedback. Naturally hands-on, they engage the children with intention, planning activities, initiating play, and bringing creativity into the day without needing direction. They’re easygoing and safety-minded, with a genuine care for children’s growth, and they bring a steady, reliable presence that can flex with the natural rhythm of a busy, ever-changing household. Calm, logical, and well-rounded, they communicate clearly and with precision, keep parents informed, and welcome feedback, adjusting as needed to meet the parents’ requests.

Daily Rhythm:

The family’s ideal nanny will primarily be responsible for providing attentive, nurturing care for the two youngest children, helping with their routines and development, in addition to supporting their oldest kids’ needs, very occasionally. Responsibilities include planning fun, educational, age-appropriate activities, handling transportation, providing sick care, preparing meals and snacks for the kids, and safely handling, preparing and storing breastmilk. In addition, they will assist the older, self-sufficient children and oversee bus pick-ups and drop-offs for the oldest son, launder children's clothes & linens,  and text updates throughout the day. The role also includes supporting flow of the household, stepping in to keep things running smoothly day to day. This involves maintaining tidy, organized spaces, resetting children’s areas as needed, handling laundry, and assisting with occasional errands to help the home stay calm and functional.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Able to accommodate evolving schedules and shifting needs
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable and insured vehicle
  • Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
  • Pet friendly. The family has a senior Labradoodle
