Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM (with occasional flexibility)

Compensation: $30–$38/hour, based on experience and qualifications

About the Family & Position: 
A warm, organized, and professional family based in Chicago in the Lincoln Park area is seeking a dedicated and proactive full-time nanny/family assistant to support their two school-aged children, ages 6 and 9. Both children are active, curious, and enjoy a balance of structured learning, extracurricular activities, and creative play.

The children are in school daily from approximately 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM, and the role will include both morning and afternoon support, along with household and family assistant duties during school hours.
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Morning routine support, including preparing children for school
  • School pick-up and afternoon care
  • Homework assistance and academic support
  • Planning age-appropriate activities, playdates, and enrichment outings
  • Supporting emotional development and positive behavior
  • Coordinating extracurricular activities and schedules
  • Light housekeeping related to the children, including laundry, folding, ironing as needed, and ensuring clothing is organized and stocked
  • Daily tidying of children’s bedrooms, play areas, and common spaces to maintain a structured and orderly environment
  • Organizing toys, books, school materials, and extracurricular items to ensure everything is easily accessible and maintained
  • Meal preparation and snack preparation for children, including packing school lunches and preparing after-school snacks
  • Weekly grocery shopping and occasional household errands (e.g., pharmacy runs, returns, or small household purchases)
  • Maintaining and managing children’s calendars, school schedules, and extracurricular commitments to ensure smooth coordination

  • Comfortable supporting academic routines while also encouraging independence and confidence in children
  • Able to seamlessly balance childcare responsibilities with light family assistant support as needed
 
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of recent childcare experience, including at least 1 year in a professional nanny or private household caregiver role
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable personal vehicle with current insurance (IRS mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to start
  • Minimum age: 21 years old
  • Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a strong plus
  • Non-smoker
  • Up-to-date TB and Tdap vaccinations
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or hold valid work authorization/visa documentation
  • Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive criminal background and reference check
  • Available to begin by June 1, 2026
