Schedule Overview:

This is a full-time role with varying weekly structure due to a 2-3-2 custody rotation schedule.

When children are in the active household:

  • Full-day support including mornings, school transportation, after-school care, and household management from 6am - 5pm 

When children are in the alternate household:

  • Reduced schedule of up to 8 hours per day, starting at 8am; focused on household management, errands, organization, meal preparation, and family logistics

 

Schedule flexibility is required due to custody transitions

Occasional weekend support with advance notice

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly compensation: $45–$52/hr (W-2) depending on experience and qualifications

This role is California-compliant and includes overtime pay in accordance with state labor laws:

  • 1.5x hourly rate for hours worked over 40/week
  • 1.5x for hours worked over 9 hours in a single day
  • Double time for hours exceeding 12 hours in a single day (when applicable)
  • Guaranteed W-2 payroll structure

Key Responsibilities: 

Childcare & Developmental Support

  • Provide structured, attentive care for four children across multiple age groups (toddler through teenager)
  • Manage and execute morning routines including wake-ups, breakfast, hygiene, and school preparation
  • Ensure timely school drop-offs and after-school pick-ups with safe transportation
  • Oversee after-school routines including decompression time, snacks, homework support, and structured activities
  • Provide consistent guidance, supervision, and emotional support tailored to each child’s developmental stage
  • Support behavior consistency, routine adherence, and smooth transitions between homes in a shared custody (2-3-2) schedule
  • Coordinate and transport children to extracurricular activities, appointments, and school-related events
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment that promotes stability across both households
  • Communicate daily updates regarding children’s schedules, needs, and activities to parents as appropriate
  • Ensure seamless transitions between two households, maintaining consistency in routines, belongings, and schedules
  • Track and manage household transitional logistics including school materials, clothing, extracurricular equipment, and transitions
  • Support communication between households as needed to ensure alignment on schedules and activities
  • Maintain structure and predictability for children during home transitions for children

Household Management & Home Operations

  • Maintain overall organization and functionality of the home, ensuring systems are efficient and consistently upheld
  • Oversee day-to-day household operations including cleanliness standards, organization, and readiness for family routines
  • Manage grocery shopping, household inventory, and restocking of essential supplies
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate healthy family meals and dinner routines (including meal prep when needed)
  • Coordinate with household vendors including cleaners, maintenance providers, landscaping, and service professionals
  • Ensure household calendars, appointments, deliveries, and schedules are managed and organized effectively
  • Assist in maintaining structured systems across both households to ensure continuity during custody transitions
  • Anticipate household needs proactively and take initiative to resolve issues before escalation

Executive Support & Life Management (Primary Parent Support)

  • Provide high-level personal and household support to the primary parent in managing daily life logistics
  • Manage calendars, scheduling conflicts, and coordination of personal and family appointments
  • Assist with travel planning, reservations, and coordination of family-related logistics
  • Handle personal errands including returns, pickups, appointments, and miscellaneous tasks
  • Support organization of personal and family priorities to reduce administrative and mental load
  • Act as a trusted right-hand support in managing day-to-day family operations and household flow
  • Provide anticipatory support by identifying upcoming needs and proactively addressing them
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism at all times

General Expectations

  • Operate independently with strong judgment and minimal supervision
  • Maintain a calm, organized, and solution-oriented presence in a dynamic household
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with parents regarding updates, issues, and scheduling needs
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within a structured but rotating custody environment
  • Uphold consistency, reliability, and professionalism in all aspects of household and childcare support

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the following baseline requirements to be considered:

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional childcare experience, ideally including both nanny and household management roles
  • Strong experience supporting multiple children across different developmental stages (toddler through teenager)
  • Valid CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable personal vehicle for work-related transportation
  • Strong, verifiable professional childcare references (minimum 3 required)
  • Authorized to work in the United States (W-2 employment required)
  • Willingness to complete a comprehensive background check including criminal, DMV, and reference verification
  • TrustLine certification (or willingness to obtain, as required in California)
  • Non-smoker
  • Comfortable working in homes with pets
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional maturity
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willing to sign NDA upon interviewing with our agency
