A thoughtful and welcoming family in San Leandro is looking for a warm, engaging, full-time nanny to join their family team. Their ideal candidate genuinely loves spending time with children and is confident with an infant and a three year old. Knowledge in supporting infant development and a playful, hands-on approach to care would be ideal. The family's oldest child is a lively three-year-old who loves dancing, gymnastics, art projects, imaginative play, and spending time outdoors! She is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish, and attends an immersive Spanish-language preschool program Monday through Friday. She enjoys helping in the kitchen, engaging in creative activities, and connecting with the people around her. Her younger sibling is a happy and highly social 4 month old who loves engaging with familiar faces and participating in daily family life. She is enamored with her big sister and wants to be near her as much as possible! She is napping twice a day and currently prefers contact sleeping or sleeping in the swing. The family is currently working toward more independent sleep habits and would welcome support from a nanny who is knowledgeable about infant sleep routines. Candidates with a strong understanding of infant developmental milestones, age-appropriate activities, and early childhood development will be particularly successful in this role.
Mom works a hybrid job, splitting time with two days in office and three days from home each week. When home, she works from a dedicated office separate from the main house. Dad works in a nearby office away from the home. Both parents are approachable, collaborative, and communicative. They value open dialogue, mutual respect, and creating a positive partnership with the nanny they welcome into their home. The family is deeply connected to their neighborhood and community. Their home is often filled with neighbors, friends, and extended family dropping by to visit. They have intentionally built strong relationships with those around them and hope to find a nanny who enjoys being part of a warm, community-oriented environment. The family frequently participates in neighborhood gatherings, block parties, park outings, and informal playdates, making this an especially appealing role for a nanny who enjoys building connections and getting out into the community with children.
Throughout the day, the nanny will be responsible for all child-related tasks, including preparing bottles and baby food, washing and sanitizing feeding supplies, children's laundry, maintaining organized play spaces, and preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children. The family values a nanny who takes initiative in keeping children's spaces tidy and running smoothly while always prioritizing the children's needs and well-being.
The ideal nanny is playful, engaged, and naturally enjoys getting down on the floor to interact with children. Candidates should be attentive to developmental milestones, excited about fostering curiosity and learning, and confident caring for both infants and preschool-aged children. Experience supporting a similar age gap is highly preferred.
Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Dad is fluent in Spanish and the family would love to continue supporting bilingual exposure for the children. However, conversational English is required, as mom will be the primary day-to-day point of communication.
The family lives in a single-family home in a highly walkable San Leandro neighborhood. The library, parks, restaurants, cafés, and public transportation are all nearby, providing plenty of opportunities for outings and adventures
A family vehicle will be available for some transportation needs, though there may be occasions when the nanny uses their own vehicle. Mileage reimbursement will be provided when applicable.
This position would be a wonderful opportunity for a nurturing, proactive, and engaging nanny seeking a long-term role with a kind family that values communication, partnership, and creating a positive environment for everyone in the home.
This family requires T-dap Flu and Covid vaccines.
