GENTLE, INTUITIVE ROTA NCS NEEDED FOR PRIVATE FAMILY IN MCLEAN, VA

Location: McLean, VA, 22102

Children: Newborn due mid-August

Compensation: $50-$60/hr

Schedule: 6-week contract, working around-the-clock care with a 6-hour break.

A thoughtful international family in McLean is preparing to welcome their newborn and is seeking a highly experienced ROTA Newborn Care Specialist team to support them through the first six weeks.

They also have a 5-year-old daughter who is social, imaginative, and active. She enjoys creative play, time outdoors, and being engaged. While this is a newborn-focused role, awareness of the overall household dynamic is important.

Mom will be present throughout the day, so the right candidate will feel comfortable working alongside her while maintaining confidence in their role. Mom is deeply engaged, kind, and attentive. She is looking for someone who brings both expertise and emotional awareness, someone she can feel comfortable with during a very personal stage without feeling judged or managed. This is a fully staffed home where professionalism and discretion are expected, and where collaboration is natural.

Daily Rhythm: 

The NCS will manage all newborn-related care, including feeding, sleep support, diapering, and establishing early routines. Responsibilities also include maintaining the nursery, sanitizing bottles and pump parts, and managing the baby’s laundry. Support for Mom during postpartum recovery is an important part of this role, and this individual will be expected to offer care while being aware of her preferences.

Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of professional experience (NCS, night nanny, or postpartum doula)
• Strong infant experience required
• Strong working knowledge of infant sleep, feeding, and early development
• Comfortable working collaboratively with a highly engaged, hands-on parent
• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
• Up-to-date on standard vaccinations (Tdap)
