Full-Time Engaging Nanny in Manhattan Beach, CA

Family Syllabus: This dynamic family of four in Manhattan Beach is looking for a reliable, professional nanny to care for their two children, ages 6 weeks and 2 years and 9 months. Their daughter attends preschool on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 am to noon, so most of the care will be for their newborn baby boy. Care for the toddler will be needed only on rare occasions, such as date nights and weekends, or to watch the monitor while she naps, but the family would like a nanny who is comfortable and confident caring for both children. Mom and Dad are both involved parents, and Dad works from home. Mom is a stay-at-home parent who is looking for a true partner in kind to collaborate with her. She appreciates a nanny who follows her lead and has strong communication skills. Please be comfortable with parents and in-laws visiting their home weekly, and with a Golden Doodle who will visit with them, too. They also have a housekeeper who supports them daily.

In addition to providing exceptional childcare, the nanny should be comfortable assisting with child-related household tasks, including children’s laundry, washing and sanitizing bottles, meal preparation, and maintaining a tidy play area. Please have experience with potty training and be a safe swimmer. While a college degree is not required, a strong understanding of child development and recent hands-on experience caring for both newborns and toddlers is essential. Familiarity with or an appreciation for Japanese culture would be a wonderful bonus. This family appreciates a true professional nanny! 

Job Synopsis: This amazing position offers the opportunity to spend your days nurturing a newborn baby and supporting a bright girl. Please be open to engaging play, bringing some silliness into the home, and putting on your best dancing shoes, as the toddler loves music and dancing. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3:30 pm, with flexibility to work occasional late nights or weekends. The family will guarantee 40 hours per week. The role offers competitive compensation of $45+ per hour, along with paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and a health insurance stipend. The nanny will support the newborn’s feeding, diapering, sleep routines, developmental milestones, and overall well-being while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment. The nanny should be knowledgeable about infant development, safe sleep practices, and age-appropriate stimulation during the early months. For the toddler care on occasion, responsibilities will include encouraging learning through play, supporting social-emotional development, maintaining routines, preparing healthy meals and snacks, and fostering independence in a loving and consistent manner. The family requests that the nanny travel domestically and internationally for 1-2 weeks at a time. Please have a reliable and safe vehicle and a clean driving record. 

Vaccination Requirements: This family is requesting a nanny who is vaccinated with MMR and Tdap and is open to getting the annual flu vaccine.
