About the Family
A warm, welcoming family in Orange County is seeking an experienced, engaging nanny to care for their delightful 16-month-old daughter. After staying home with their daughter since birth, mom is preparing to launch her own business and will be working from a home office while the nanny takes the lead during the day.
This family values kindness, communication, and creating a calm, respectful environment where children can thrive. They enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting local playgrounds, attending music classes and library programs, and making the most of family time together. They also have a friendly small dog who is typically with mom throughout the day.
They are hoping to build a long-term relationship with a nanny who can become an important part of their family's life for years to come.
About Their Child
Their daughter is a bright, curious, and social toddler who loves learning through play and exploration. She thrives with one-on-one interaction and enjoys books, music, outdoor adventures, helping with simple household tasks, and discovering new experiences. She is active, eager to participate, and especially enjoys being included in age-appropriate everyday activities.
The family follows a completely screen-free lifestyle and embraces a Montessori-inspired approach to learning. They believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, exploration, and opportunities to build independence from an early age. They are looking for a nanny who shares this philosophy and enjoys creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, confidence, and new skill development.
The Ideal Candidate
The family is searching for a warm, confident, and proactive nanny who genuinely enjoys the toddler stage and understands the rapid developmental changes that come with it.
Their ideal nanny is someone who naturally plans enriching days, encourages independence, and creates opportunities for learning through everyday experiences rather than relying on structured lessons or screen time.
They are hoping to find someone who is:
• Warm, nurturing, and able to build a secure attachment with their daughter
• Confident and self-directed, able to take initiative without needing constant guidance
• Patient, calm, and consistent with toddler behaviors
• Playful, energetic, and genuinely enjoys getting on the floor to engage with children
• Passionate about fostering independence and teaching practical life skills through everyday routines
• An excellent communicator who provides thoughtful daily updates
• Interested in building a long-term relationship with the family

• Professional toddler experience
• Background in Early Childhood Education or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong understanding of toddler development

• Taking walks, visiting playgrounds, library programs, music classes, and other local activities
• Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the child
• Maintaining a clean, organized environment related to the child
During the child's daily nap (approximately one hour), the nanny will assist with child-related household tasks such as:
• Baby laundry
• Preparing meals and snacks for the child
• Tidying play areas and bedroom
• Rotating toys and learning materials
• Changing crib sheets
• Keeping children's items organized
• Other child-related household tasks as needed
Parenting Philosophy
The family follows an authoritative parenting approach rooted in warmth, respect, consistency, and clear expectations. They believe children thrive when they are given loving guidance alongside firm, predictable boundaries.
Rather than using raised voices or harsh discipline, they prioritize respectful communication, teaching the reasoning behind expectations, redirection, and natural consequences. As their daughter grows, they believe discipline should remain developmentally appropriate and are comfortable incorporating strategies such as time-outs when age appropriate.
They are looking for a nanny who will partner with them in fostering independence, confidence, kindness, emotional regulation, and respect while providing loving structure and consistency each day.
Benefits
• 1-2 weeks paid vacation
• Paid holidays

This is a wonderful opportunity for a career nanny who is passionate about early childhood development and is excited to become an integral part of a kind, thoughtful family.
