Kind, Caring Family Assistant Needed FT in Palo Alto

Start: mid-August

A family in Palo Alto is looking for a Family Assistant to help with childcare and household tasks. Their boys are 8 and 11 years old and involved in a variety of activities. Their eldest son is neurodiverse and great with academics but struggles socially so their ideal candidate has experience working with kids on the spectrum. Responsibilities include pick up and drop off to/from school, appointments, and activities, laundry and light tidying, running errands, and meal prep. If the FA is comfortable cooking they’d love for someone to prepare simple meals.

Some flexibility and willingness to travel is a nice-to-have as they typically travel domestic and abroad in June and July. Ultimately the best person for them is gentle, kind, patient, and proactive.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Hindi (nice to have)

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated + boosted / willingness to update if requested
• TB and Tdap
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record with reliable vehicle for work-related driving (family will reimburse for mileage)
• Experience working with high functioning neurodivergent children
• Gentle, kind personality

• Dependable and punctual
• Ideally willing / flexible for some travel during the summer (international / domestic)
• Can make at least a year commitment

Responsibilities

• Pick up and drop off children to/from school, activities, appointments, play dates, etc.
• Engage in play (going to the park or play ground)
