Inside Their World:

A warm and intentional family in Washington, DC is seeking an engaging, compassionate live-in or live-out nanny to care for their infant daughter and toddler son. They are looking for someone who can become a trusted partner in their children's development, especially their son as he continues building communication, independence, and confidence.

Their infant daughter is sweet, curious, and happily reaching new developmental milestones. She is bottle fed with breast milk, enjoys tummy time, is beginning to explore solids, and loves grabbing toys as she discovers the world around her. She thrives with opportunities to get out of the house, whether that's neighborhood walks, visits to the park, or playdates with other babies.

Their toddler son is friendly, playful, and full of personality. He has global developmental delays and attends a specialized program during the week. He thrives with caregivers who are energetic, engaging, and able to meet him where he is developmentally. He loves being outdoors, kicking balls, jumping on the trampoline, and exploring his surroundings. He is beginning to use more words to communicate and benefits from caregivers who encourage communication through narration, play, and everyday routines while celebrating each milestone along the way. He responds best to patient, playful interactions, gentle redirection, and consistent support as he continues building confidence and independence.

Family Environment:

This family values a compassionate, playful, and intentional approach to childcare. Their parenting philosophy centers around connection, patience, and positive guidance, believing children respond best when they are encouraged and supported rather than simply directed. They value caregivers who can bring warmth, structure, and creativity into their home while respecting each child's unique personality and needs.

As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring parks and nature, visiting farms, going on walks, and creating opportunities for their children to experience the world around them. They appreciate a nanny who sees everyday moments as opportunities for learning, growth, and connection.

Both parents are thoughtful and engaged in their children's development. Mom is a present stay-at-home parent and is actively involved in the children’s daily routines, while also valuing a nanny who can confidently take ownership of the day. They are looking for someone who maintains open and clear communication. They value a caregiver who is energetic, proactive, observant, and able to provide thoughtful updates while becoming a trusted extension of their family.

Who Thrives Here:

This role is ideal for a professional nanny who is energetic, emotionally attuned, and passionate about supporting children's development. They enjoy engaging children through conversation, play, books, songs, outdoor exploration, and everyday routines.

The family is especially seeking someone who is naturally interactive and understands how to support a child with developmental delays through intentional engagement. Experience with early intervention, speech development, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or special education is highly valued.

The ideal candidate is patient, adaptable, and confident working independently. They notice the small details, celebrate progress, create structure, and bring a thoughtful, proactive approach to each day. Strong communication, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with parents and developmental professionals are essential to success in this role.

The family would love someone who brings positive energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.

Daily Rhythm:

Each day will revolve around providing attentive, nurturing care for two young children while supporting their individual routines and developmental needs. Mom will primarily care for the infant, while the nanny will take the lead in caring for the toddler’s daily routine. Responsibilities include planning age appropriate activities, outdoor play, walks, scheduling playdates, meal and snack prep, and managing daily routines.

The nanny will provide intentional support for the toddler by encouraging communication, reinforcing strategies recommended by his developmental team, creating opportunities for independence, and adapting activities to meet his individual needs.

Additional responsibilities include child related household tasks such as children's laundry, tidying play spaces, washing bottles, preparing meals and snacks, organizing supplies, scheduling activities, and keeping parents updated with photos and highlights throughout the day.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Experience collaborating with therapists or implementing developmental strategies preferred
  • Experience supporting children with developmental delays or related developmental needs
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable and insured vehicle
  • Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
  • Live-in is preferred, but the family is open to live-out candidates
