ABOUT THE HOUSEHOLD & ROLE
This household is home to two adults, two pugs, one cat, and a 750-gallon saltwater aquarium, with two adult daughters living nearby who visit regularly. The family splits time between their primary home in Coppell and a second home in Colorado, and this role exists to bring consistency to that back-and-forth - ensuring the home runs smoothly and the pets are well cared for whether the family is in town or away. The household entertains frequently and maintains an open-door approach to guests, with pet care and comfort as a central priority in how the home operates day to day.

The Household Manager/Pet Sitter will take ownership of light meal prep, household upkeep, and full-charge pet care during the weekly core hours with a focus on bringing more structure to areas - particularly meals and laundry - the family is actively working to improve.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide full-charge care for two dogs, one cat, and a saltwater aquarium, including daily feeding
  • During family travel to Colorado, provide either overnight, in-home coverage or four scheduled check-in visits daily (8:00 AM, noon, 5:30 PM, and 9:30 PM)
  • Plan weekly meals, including grab-and-go breakfast/lunch options prepped one day per week and approximately three dinners prepared ready to heat
  • Grocery shop or place delivery/pickup orders as needed
  • Maintain household laundry, including delicate items and light steaming
  • Perform light housekeeping between professional cleanings, including vacuuming, surface wiping, and wet nose smudges on windows
  • Coordinate and supervise household vendors, including cleaning, yard maintenance, pest control, and aquarium service while family is away
  • Manage inventory of household cleaning, paper, and kitchen/bar supplies
  • Provide light administrative support, including vendor coordination and occasional research
  • Assist with seasonal decorating and preparation for entertaining

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior household management or family assistant experience
  • Genuine experience and comfort caring for dogs and cats
  • Willingness to learn basic aquarium feeding routine
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stretch frequently
  • Comfortable maintaining discretion around guests and visitors
  • Reliable transportation and availability for scheduled visits or overnight coverage during travel periods
  • Local candidates only
  • Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • W-2 employment through Modern Household Staffing

IDEAL CANDIDATE
You're detail-oriented without needing everything mapped out in advance - comfortable stepping into a household that's still building out its systems and helping shape them along the way. You notice what needs attention without waiting to be asked, communicate clearly and kindly with the family and with vendors, and take initiative on small things like a pet mess or a smudged window without being prompted. You're patient in building trust with pets who may take time to warm up, and you're comfortable in a home that welcomes frequent guests and values an easy, unforced atmosphere.
