We are assisting a warm, welcoming family relocating from New York City to Rye with their search for an experienced Family Assistant. Both parents are busy professionals. They are looking for someone dependable, proactive, and intuitive who can step in where needed and provide consistent support for both the children and the household. This family has had a long-term nanny in NYC and truly values the connection they have built. They are looking for someone to stay for several years, grow with the family, and shift responsibilities as their needs change. The children, ages 7 and 9, are kind, hardworking, and genuinely wonderful kids. As the family navigates a major transition from city life to Westchester, they are hoping to find a long-term caregiver who can provide stability, organization, and support. The role requires someone who can confidently manage busy afternoons, coordinate pickups from different schools, and seamlessly shift between childcare and family assistant responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • School pickups and transportation to activities
  • Managing busy afternoon schedules and coordinating logistics
  • Homework support and helping the children stay organized
  • Providing engaging after-school care and supervision
  • Children's laundry and household organization
  • Meal prep and kitchen support
  • Running errands, including dry cleaning and household shopping
  • Meeting and coordinating with vendors and service providers as needed
  • General family assistant duties to help keep the household running smoothly  Providing reliable afternoon and evening coverage throughout the week

The ideal candidate will be

  • Experienced as a Family Assistant and nanny
  • Highly organized, proactive, and self-directed 
  • Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces and busy schedules 
  • Collaborative, comfortable working closely with parents and on thier own 
  • Warm, positive, upbeat, and naturally intuitive
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to anticipate family needs 
  • Naturally tidy and happy to jump in where needed
