  • A warm family of four who recently relocated to Westchester from the Washington, DC area is seeking a patient, nurturing, and engaged nanny/family assistant. They have two children, ages 4 and 2, and would love someone who is interested in taking on limited household planning/management tasks while the children are at daycare. This family has two friendly cats.

The children are at a fun, active age and are adjusting to their new surroundings. With both parents managing busy careers, the family is looking for someone who can provide consistency, individual attention, and nurturing care while creating fun and engaging afternoons for the children. While not required, the family would love to find someone who is also willing to work from 9 am - 3 pm on either Saturday or Sunday. This family requires driving and a will family vehicle provided.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide attentive, nurturing, and engaging care for both children
    • Pick the children up from daycare between 3:30-4:30 pm, depending on planned activities and meal planning/preparation schedule
    • Safely transport the children to activities and outings using the family vehicle
    • Plan fun, age-appropriate activities, outings, outdoor play, reading, and creative activities
    • Support consistent afternoon and evening routines
    • Plan meals for the children for each week and, on occasion, shop for needed ingredients
    • Prepare and serve meals and snacks for the children
    • Assist with dinner, bath, and bedtime routines
    • Encourage positive behavior, listening, and age-appropriate boundaries
    • Keep the children’s belongings and play areas tidy and organized
    • Clean up after the children’s meals and activities
    • Communicate openly with parents regarding the children’s days, routines, and needs
    • Occasional household assistance tasks such as bringing a package to the post office (time permitting, when children are at daycare)

    Ideal Candidate:

The family is looking for someone patient, engaged, nurturing, and a strong communicator. The ideal nanny genuinely enjoys working with toddlers and preschool-aged children and knows how to balance warmth and affection with consistency and structure. They would love someone energetic enough to keep up with two active young children while also bringing a calm and dependable presence to their home. Experience caring for multiple young children is strongly preferred. Candidates should be reliable, proactive, safety-conscious, comfortable driving, comfortable working in a home with two cats, and comfortable caring for the children when parents are working from home (each parent has a designated home office and works from home a couple of days per week) or housekeeper is cleaning the house.
