Inside Their World:

A warm, laid back family is looking for a proactive and dependable nanny/family assistant to care for their sweet and energetic 2-year-old son and hope to have more kids in the future.

Their son is a very active, physical little guy who is always moving and grooving. He is chatty, very sweet, silly, and a genuinely happy child. He is also a great eater! He loves spending time outside, playing with cars and trucks, building with Magna-Tiles, and coloring. The family is looking for someone who can keep up with his energy while creating a warm, playful, and engaging environment throughout his day.

Creativity is important to the family, and they would love someone who can plan fun arts and crafts, outings, and age appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and learning through play.

Family Environment:

Mom and Dad are both very involved in their family and take their work seriously while maintaining a laid back, go with the flow approach at home. They are looking for someone who can comfortably fit into their household while respecting their personalities, routines, and space. The family enjoys taking walks, going out to dinner, and traveling together.

The family also occasionally has evening commitments related to work or social plans, so there may be opportunities for additional evening childcare for someone interested in earning extra income.

The family currently has a housekeeper, so the nanny's focus will remain on the child and family support responsibilities rather than general household cleaning. They also have a friendly 14-pound Cavapoo.

Who Thrives Here:

This position is ideal for a warm, engaging, and emotionally intelligent professional who is naturally proactive and takes pride in making a family's life easier.

The family is looking for someone who is organized, detail oriented, calm, mature, and highly dependable. The right person will be comfortable working independently, learning the family's systems and preferences, and taking ownership without needing constant direction or reminders.

Initiative is especially important. They want someone who naturally sees a need and fills it, whether that means noticing that something is running low and replenishing it, preparing for the week ahead, keeping their son's belongings organized, or anticipating what he will need for school and activities.

They are looking for someone who can get down on their son's level, keep up with his active personality, and create fun, age-appropriate experiences through outdoor play, arts and crafts, imaginative activities, and exploration.

Clear, direct communication is important to the family. The right person should be receptive to feedback, emotionally mature, and comfortable communicating openly while also understanding that Mom values a quieter household environment and does not need a nanny who feels the need to socialize throughout the day.

Above all, they want someone who does not need to be managed. The strongest candidate will learn the family's standards and systems and become increasingly autonomous and proactive over time.

Daily Rhythm:

The nanny/family assistant will primarily support the family's child with school pickup and their afternoon routine, providing attentive, nurturing, and engaging care throughout the day. The nanny will safely transport the child home from school, manage lunch, afternoon nap, and after nap play time. They will plan fun, educational, and age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor play, and other engaging experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and development.

The nanny will prepare simple meals and snacks for the child, clean up after the child's and nanny's meals and snacks, load and empty the dishwasher as needed, and manage all child related food needs. They will also care for the child when school is closed or he is home sick.

The nanny will have time during the child's daily naps to support the family. The nanny will shop for the family as needed, including groceries, children’s clothing, and other necessities. The nanny will help with family dinner prep, tidying up common areas, errands, and taking the dog out.

The nanny will manage the child's laundry and linens, tidy and maintain their common areas, including play areas and bedroom, empty the diaper pail, and restock the diaper bag and school backpack as needed. The ideal candidate will naturally notice what needs to be done and take initiative to keep the child's spaces, belongings, and daily routine organized and running smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Experience caring for toddlers and infants
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable and insured vehicle
  • Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
  • Pet friendly. This family has one friendly dog
